He was okay and he was ok to be strongest damage wise cause needed that damage to deal with spongy bosses. Now we got more characters with high damage depending on their setups and playstyles, making him kinda a Wilson tier character while still keeping the fun element of overpowering everything as his aspect.

Food was annoying to upkeep, I didn't like his older mechanic but rn it can be even more deadly with his transformations linked to damage taken, making him simple but cautionary character to play specifically around swarmers.

At least I like him now more than ever, his constant food devouring sometimes was annoying to witness cause those wolfgang newbies don't always contribute and burn calories for no reason.

Depends on what you consider early-mid-late game.

I said I played as Wolfgang both pre skill tree and afterwards, I DO Own Solo DS and all it’s DLCs you know?

and now I must ask you what you consider early-mid-late game in Solo DS?

Is it beating adventures mode? Surviving all four seasons? Doing X, Y & Z in Hamlet? What the heck are you even talking about?!?!

If you’re talking about DST then what can even be considered early, mid and late game? Wolfgang just existing effectively cuts a multiplayer designed raid bosses health down to HALF it total percentage, if TWO Wolfgang’s are in the fight that bosses health is now HALF of HALF.

This is a skill Wolfgang has always had both before and after skill trees.

I'm still pretty confident though Mike, say you have - say you've played pre-wolfgang to a large enough degree that your feedback is constructive, pretty please? :3

Would love to know if people complain about Winona devouring the fridge now that she's become meta.

Winona needs changes too, and I was hoping her skill tree would have addressed that. If the idea and intention behind character reworks and skill trees is to make the characters easier for newer players to pick up and enjoy playing, then Winona needs some serious tweaks..

a newbie player will be burning through early game spears and axes and pickaxes and this can and will effectively drain her hunger and make her crafting speed so slow that crafting a weapon in any combat scenario (like you can do with any character NOT named Winona..) is So much slower that your better off just crafting a bunch of axes and spears and lugging them around at all times before hand.

And with the Skill Tree it’s made even worse due to your inventory slots now being occupied with your portable Winona item devices.

Most Wolfgangs I have seen are rushers that usually play solo and know how to get their own stuff. Sure theres the exception and I have also seen some newbies enter Wolfgang, ask for base, and just sit in front of the fridge doing nothing on strong mode constantly eating meatballs. But I dont think that Wolfgang's hunger was as taxing as people said, if anything I think that Warly and Winona have it worst, Warly's hunger is a constant drain and requires different types of meals, and Winona losing 5 hunger per craft ends up stacking to a lot

Maining wolfgang is like catching an addiction to crack

I love how DST forums encourage users to come up with creative insults towards people who dare to have fun while playing a video game.

Dont think Balter is trying to be insulting here.

Playing wolfgang is the same as playing dst on easy mode as it's a fact that wolfgang has the most power of any character for the least amount of effort.

So ofc if someone is used to maining wolfgang, they will have a harder time transitioning back to 1x damage characters and having fun with them.

I love how DST forums encourage users to get offended by a very tame jokey analogy.

Not really, though.

Ask most players how they most frequently die. It's certainly not from trying to solo raid bosses. And if you're playing in a group, it matters even less how much DPS your individual character contributes. The players who can solo kill bosses as Wolfgang are the same players that can solo bosses as anyone, but prefer not to exert 2x the resources in the process.

Does he have the most power for the least amount of effort? Eh, maybe. Wanda was comparable pre-skill tree. Though if you really want to solo grind out every boss within the first 100 days without pulling your hair out, then yes, Wolfgang is the man for the job.
