phlorie
Hello! My spigot seals don't seem to be sipping on nectar and starving themselves to death. What am I doing wrong? BezKa
Is there enough light for the trees to produce at high efficiency? Those trunks look pretty empty. NewWorldDan
Trees need a lot more light. They need 10000 lux for full growth. They're only getting a few hundred from those lamps and they're only producing about 5% of what they could. You need either the mercury lamp or the sun lamp. Or you can stack up a whole bunch of lumen crystals at the base of each tree. And blanket the ceiling with the ordinary lights. Gurgel
For one tamed Seal you basically need two trees at (almost) full production, meaning all branches around 10K Lux. You have maybe 5% of that. I could be wrong tho but from my experience ranching 4 seals they never starve and they always above 900kcals. Gurgel
Ok, I have not actually measured it. But: A fully illuminated tree produces 33g Nectar per second, that is 20kg/cycle. The tooltip for the seals say they consume 40kg/cycle. That would mean two trees per seal. It is possible the tooltip is wrong or misleading (they may need less to not starve). On the other hand, the 6 trees/3seals stable I keep has the trees always replenishing themselves, so the seals do empty them out. The trees are not at full 500%, more like 380% each or so, i.e. about 15kg nectar/cycle. Bonbon trees produce 133.33g/s of nectar in total when at max capacity (attainable via mercury lamp). you need .5 trees per seal Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158482-spigot-seal-starving/#findComment-1737239 Share on other sites

So, yes. 1/2 domesticated one or 2 wild ones per seal. That's why the seals are hatched in a closed door. They can't fight back when they're tied down.
