Some QoL petition

Recommended Posts

In this update, we can now plant flowers closer than before. But the moon moth still can't be planted close to each other. The player can't even plant them closer than they naturally spawn. The lune tree has the range limitation exactly same as ancient trees from sunken treasures, while doesn't offer anything valuable until chopped down. The deploy range of lune tree can be closer than now.

Also, about Terrorclaw. It is the aquatic counterpart of Terrorbeak. Has 400 hp, deals 50 damage. The only inconsistent thing is killing it only gives 15 sanity unlike Terrorbeak. It should give 33 sanity when killed!

And lastly, I still think umbralla should be activated immediately when dropped on the ground same as lantern, and can be picked up while active.

The saddest thing about the TerrorClaw for me personally is that I rarely ever actually see it when out at sea, and there are several reasons for this.

#1 I never set sail at low sanity.

#2 there aren’t any threats out on the open seas that are actively draining your Sanity so they can spawn.

(example being near Hounds or Spiders will lower your Sanity on land & eventually allows Crawling Horrors or Terrorbeaks to spawn)

With the OCEAN however, the only thing that’s going to lower your sanity that much would probably be being a fool and sailing in winter where the nights are longer.

TL:DR- There isn’t enough content in the ocean that actively lowers sanity like there would be on the surface or caves.

Now if Klei were to update Skittersquid so that they’re ALWAYS hostile and once spit on by their ink it lowered your sanity until the ink blots cleared up… :wilson_evil:

Sailing in winter is fine and necessary if you want the ice bream.

I am an oar user and so usually, i get insane in spring when i don't make the rain coat.
Sailng in winter is the best. You never get too far from a firepit and so you never have to stop to heat up your thermal stone or yourself.

It's not a beak counterpart because there's no crawler on the sea, it is its own shadow tier

Wrong. It is a beak counterpart.

It is an actual terror beak. When you go on the ocean, nearby terrorbeaks turn into terror clawx.

  • Optional settings to see stats and have some sort of symmetrical placement. Healthbars would be nice but the former two are my priorities.
  • An easier way to get into the atrium and refight Fuelweaver. He's such a pain to get to and is one of my biggest complaints with Fuelweaver. Even though he's fun to refight, I don't like fighting him since he's so out of the way.
  • More uses for boss loot. Bosses like Deerclops don't give much incentive to fight outside the first time, since the eyebrella is easy to repair. There are houndius shootius's though, which are a step in the right direction, but I wish there could be more recipes.
  • Howlitizer should stack infinite hounds teeth or at least a decent increase. It needs a decent amount of ammo to kill larger groups of enemies and bosses, since 68 isn't a lot in practice. I wouldn't mind if the damage was 75 to affect more breakpoints but I do think ammo increase would be good QOL.
  • The knobbly trees should have a slightlybigger radius, maybe 1/2 to a full tile, and should just give 80-100% resistance to wetness and overheating. The high resistance isn't op since you're already pretty safe in your base, the trees can't be moved, and the trees take a while to grow and set up. Eyebrella and caves already exist too. I think this would make the trees more worth it and more players would consider implementing them into bases.

I never thought about it till now. What the heck is the Terrorclaw if the Crawling Horror and Terrorbeak are the shedded skin ancients?

Maybe pearls race or barnacles corrupted? If not, then we need the original creature added in the game for consistency reasons

It's the Terrorbeak. You can test this. When you are chased by a Terrorbeak, jump onto a boat and try sailing away. Look how it gets sucked into a "vortex" of sorts and reappears with the same vortex as a Terrorclaw.

Except it isn't truly the same creature since they don't share health. If you damage a Terrorbeak then jump on a boat, the terrorbeak leaves and the Terrorclaw appears with full HP. So different entity. I think at least.

probably a bug/overlooked thing
