Make the night light good!

Recommended Posts

Please. The one Winona interaction is not strong enough. It is an expensive and cool looking item thats seen as a worse campfire.

Quick Ideas to add on to the existing concept

Easy and quick Ideas: Immune to wetness. Restores 10% of fuel when a nightmare creature is killed near it. Immune to the campfire hands, along with nearby campfires if ignited. If lighted on a boat, wavy jones will avoid you.

Bigger idea- Sainity mechanics

The light is brighter the lower your sainity is. It begins getting brighter at 85% sainity and below. When fully insane, it will be the largest light source in the game the player can make, though nightmare creatures will be annoying still and it drains sainity. But remember, killing nightmares near it restores fuel.

lmao. since it's a reverse kind of darkness fire, how about if when placing cooked meat on it, it becomes raw again? Or basically any cooked ingredient. I think that would be great utility without being completely broken. Would have to cost something though... either sanity... or your soul...

But sanity penalty makes sense, because if you witnessed a cooked piece of meat become uncooked, surely you'd go mad.

But i think it should be for the endothermic fire instead.

Endo fire is just a cold fire. If you cool down a cooked piece of steak, it wouldn't uncook it.

I was about to suggest that it should lose freshness as you have. Maybe that should be a downside of it. If you ever need to uncook a piece of meat or cooked vegetable, it would either be for a craft or to feed to a bird for seeds.

Yeah, you're right.

If I had the power I would simply replace it to be the old maxwelllight but craftable. I adored those things and other maxwellcrafts. The DST nightlight I sadly only craft when I feel like adding some piece of decoration next to a Maxwell statue for no actual purpose other then for a feeling of nostalgia.

An interesting concept is that within it's radius it prevents nightmares from attacking but prevents natural sanity gain while being in it so you just have the creatures constantly waiting for to escape, as your only moment of reprieve slowly dwindles.

I like the idea of night light pacifying / keeping away nightmare creatures

Make so shadows spawned by wickerbottom or Maxwell reading books while insane still attacks.thats the only use I can really see the nightmare light being abused over other then that holding back base nightmare creatures won’t really help to much and it would only be a nice convince thing.but if that still isn’t enough for you can also add the speed at which the fires goes out per insane player within its radius so there’s no way this could be op?

Having a structure that just removes the downsides of insanity is waaayyy too strong.

First it’s a non moving structure that requires a gem so also it requires nightmare fuel and unless your playing Winona with her rose colored glasses which is 1 fuel every 4 minutes you kinda have to deal with the downsides of insanity and get a perk that temporary holds of the downsides of insanity.also after the first year you should atleast be somewhat ok at dealing with nightmares so yea the idea won’t be op at all just a tad helpful
