In real life, deep fried foods are often very well liked despite their negative health effects. Additionally, tallow is obtained from spigot seals, who eat a preplastic, which may somewhat connect tallow to natural gas and thus make the tallow cost for the fryer similar to the natural gas cost for the gas range. As such, I suggest that the deep fryer should also produce foods that have morale effects on par with with many gas range recipes at the cost of those recipes being more complex and potentially more tallow expensive as well as the foods maybe providing a negative debuff like the frost burger. I do not feel like they need to be dehydrated, as I feel pemmican fills that purpose.

This would also be nice for just adding more variety to the same old things so you don't always have to build a gas range for the best food, as more variety in how things are done is kind of what the dlc is about

I agree, the fact that the deep fryer is at tier 3 research with the gas range, I expected it to have at least 1 superb food with +16 morale. Deep Fried Steak should be the Superb food, Squash Fries can also be a Superb food but can be Great food(+12 morale) as well. Fish Taco and Tempura should not be the same tier as Cooked Seafood, the fact that Tacos and Tempura uses the most Tallow should give it Great Food tier.

Another option would be to move deep fryer lower in tech, so it wouldn't require radiation

I agree. Right now it's in an akward spot, as by the time you can afford the 480watts power draw and have tallow production you probably have a consistant food source for your colonie already and would probably rather making higher quality foods

It would be nice to get some more food recipes. Higher quality food made by combining existing food recipes with new food items from DLC. Like combining BBQ with fries. Bump the deep fryer a tier down in research but make it so that some of its food items are ingredients for high quality food items in gas range.

This is kind of what I was talking about when I said increasing recipe complexity, but I would keep the deep fryer at the same tier of research, as I do not want to always have to build a gas range to get the best food, I would like the deep fryer to make similar strength recipes to the gas range. Combining fries with something could be one recipe, while another recipe could be deep frying tofu (and if you have spaced out another varient of this recipe will exist for plant meat because it has no recipes) to get a fried plant patty, while some grill or microbe musher recipe could make dough, which could be cooked with sucrose in the deep fryer to make a donut, which could be combined with tonic root and a fried plant patty in the deep fryer to make a planty burger or something like that. (just a sample recipe idea, probably would be different than that if it ever was added, but I would like it to include food items that are normally forgotten about because they are not considered as good, such as tonic root, plant meat and tofu, or sucrose, considering that the frosty planet has a new way of getting it)

Unless there are drastic changes to the way delecta voles are ranched, it's best Klei pretends tonic root doesn't exist.
