The beta should not end before this change comes.

With the current update, wurt no longer loses her stats from her king in the cave. This is a great thing. With this change should come the merms that follow us underground. I would like to do ruins rush with Wurt's merms. I don't know why this topic is never talked about but I think it's important.

Just build your Merm huts in the caves right next to the door and unless you have a crappy old PC, 5 seconds of loading later you’ll be in caves and recruit cave followers.

I don’t think Klei wants to let Wurt and Webbers entirely large armies transition with them between shards, because it will severely lag and crash out the game.

(It barely handles Willow with Enlarged Bernie and a bell bonded Beefalo)

I think it’s logical for the player to be expected to have armies in both the caves and the surface to recruit separately.

What has to be considered is what the houses will do. Will it spawn a new Merm, letting you dupe Merms for free or stop spawning them until the owner dies, making you hunt them down if they get lost?

The skills work around that by giving you higher quality Merms so you can get by with fewer until you have passive/convenient setups.

I have a Ryzen 5 4600H, 32GB RAM, GTX 1650 Ti, does not overheat so no thermal throttling (as if it were a possibility in a game like DST), I need to wait at least 20 seconds before I get loaded into an another shard.

It's a nuisance.

If thats the case why Klei made new Chop/Pick Tools for Merms so we need to build even more Craftmerms

or why Klei Give Wurt not so great Mosquitos? I mean just llook big bee bioms.. Servers are laggy as hell when you go there.

But yes, now we even more laggy as Wurt players. If we dont play alone on our own server but since its Don't Starve TOGETHER

That won't mean much to him, but yeah I agree its quite a bit of a load - older game though, I imagine the code needs a min to run it's initial scripts

That's not quite what's happening Mike. By logical you mean possible, it would be logical that Merms could follow us into shards.

Skeeter bomb slander! :wilson_livid:

After all the changes they're actually really good.

I don't have an issue with this... as long as it doesn't affect performance too heavily. Idk how shards work, but Klei seems to restrict equipment, followers, Maxwell's hat, having chester and hutch, etc, to not transfer between shards. If Klei didn't make it an option it's probably because of performance and not balance.

Well for what? For lagging? For even more followers? For even more Ressource Waste?

I mean now that they are properly programmed it's a ranged weapon that deals up to 281 damage per bomb and it's a alternative follower type that is more portable than merms that are better at busting up hordes safely while I wouldn't recommend using them together they're great for situations where merms aren't as convenient.

Also they create a feedback loop that makes them progressively easier to amass.

Well yes the "Feedback Loop" which you said was really good, i had so many Mosquito sacks when they died again haha.

Lets see if they is a "mute Mosquito" Mod

They drop a sack when they successfully explode as well and you not liking the sound isn't relevant to their usefulness it feels like your just looking for reasons to hate it.

I completely agree.

But what happens if you leave the merm in the cave?
Both having a new merm spawn in the house or continuing to wait will lead to strange results.

In fact, the problem of merms losing their homes is less known than its severity.
A merm that is too far away from home will try to get home, but if the player is not around, no interaction will occur, so it will never get there.

Well and it feels like you just persuade.

Buffing Merms more and more, so why you would now also need tons of Mosquitos? and they not got if they just a few.

They fixed this long ago actually the game will track the time it would have taken to get back unloaded and if they stay that way in that time they'll spawn back home. This was fixed during Wurt's mini refresh where she got a lot of quality of life and new upgrades during Wickerbottom's re fresh.

I'll just leave it here I don't think our conversation is accomplishing anything.
