I do hope we get a nightberry crockpot dish/crockpot use before the beta ends

Recommended Posts

With the beta drawing to a close, I hope there is still time to incorporate a dish made from night berries. As someone who plays into the very lategame, I like the berry a lot as a cool concept of night vision with a downside, but I don’t feel I’ll get a lot of use out of it with its quick spoilage time of 6 days, and I don’t really wanna resort to using bundle strats when there’s many other available options I’ve been using that get me by. It’s especially unfortunate that you can put it in the crockpot right now, but it only counts as a fruit and nothing else.

I would really like a crockpot dish to be able to use it in the bin. I don’t really feel its duration or effects need to be changed much, but being able to carry it around in the bin (alongside even spicing it) would be more than sufficient for my needs.

In the worst case, I would appreciate it the berry at least got a value to allow it to be made into glow berry mousse, as binge making the dish is a bit tedious if you don’t have the mini setpiece of 10 lesser berries + 3 worms in the caves, and would help make this dish a lot more reliable to make.

I doubt we will get the dish in this beta because when you cook the nightberry you lose night vision effect

And I think that is a hint that only warly will be able to cook it while preserving its effect

Warly will be the next to get a skill tree, and one of the perks will be something along the lines of "Become proficient in cooking with ancient, exotic ingredients...". Mark my words.

The beta is now over. Now it's just minor fixes.

You'll have to wait until September.

I don't think it's very likely to happen for other reasons, but a crock pot dish is the perfect kind of thing to rush through at the last second because it can be as simple as a dozen lines of code, minor variations on a single base art asset, and character inspect strings.

1 nightberry 1 royal jelly 1 nightmare fuel 1 filler = Nightberry Surprise. Eating it gives you nightvision for 15 days, but you lose sainity 15% faster during those days.

1 nightberry 2 fruit 1 glowberry Berry Crumble Warly exclusive = Gain nightvision for 2 day, as well as gaining the glowberry effect for 2.25 days.

I think it should get a dish and it doesn't even need to be something that's excessively creative so it can come out even when the patch drops. Something as simple as a nightberry mousse or nightberry jam with it being a simple reskin. I wouldn't lock it behind Warly personally, but the thing is, the nightberry later on will make the glowberry obsolete.

An additional crock pot dish just for this berry seems unnecesary, I would very much prefer if they make it so it counts as small or big berry for Warly's mousse, IMO I think that would make him more valuable as a character because you would now have a solid alternative (and on the surface) for making that special dish

Warly, like Winona before the skill tree IS currently a problem character. He's a switch character through and through. Even if there arises those who exclaim "That's not true, I play Warly", those people are exceptions to the rule.

I don't necessarily think that locking more dishes behind Warly should be the play. He needs more value than whatever can fit inside a bundle wrap.

People won't be motivated to stay as Warly with just one single additional dish.

I hope they add some kind of butcher skill, where if warly personally participates in killing a mod, it has more drops or something, like two deerclops eyeballs if warly helps kill it, or maybe more beequeen jelly, or crab king bottles, ect.

I would enjoy some advanced recipes, but I hope the skilltree focuses on stuff that warly can do in the moment, and not stuff he can craft and bundlewrap for a different character to use 20 days later.

As for the thread topic, i hope they just add the ability to use nightberries in his already existing mousse, as a surface farmable alternative.

Warly changes wouldn't make much difference since by the time you get enough tree's you most likely have the Shadow artrium.

Giving Warly a special dish also wouldn't make sense since this would only further incentivise Celestial portal usage and wouldn't fix the core issue.

Problem with nightberries is the fact that you start getting them at similar times with bearger can which creates a problem. Now you use bundles just for nightberries.

I don't care about how hard the recipe is, But I really hope that they can give us one before beta ends.

(Also, The recipe could be something like berry salad which could include normal berries. This would give us a reason to create the forgotten berry farms :))

These berries take ages to grow, this will be a very bad trade. This idea wont work.

Its not a solid alternative.
