I think a nice QoL regarding spawning Malbatross would be very welcome. Make each fish hooked from the deep bass shoal increase the chance to spawn Malbatross by 10% but only applied to the current shoal. This way, if you fish out the entire shoal (it has about 10 fish in total) you will be guaranteed to spawn Malbatross - just like Frostjaw is guaranteed to spawn after catching 3 fish from his ice hole. 

If there are any concerns about balancing the amount of Malbatrosses that can be fought in a short time span, there are possible solutions here. The cooldown to respawn Malbatross in the same shoal could be longer (15 or 20 days, instead of current 5 or whatever it is). It would promote ocean exploration and fishing in different spawners. Additionally, the mechanic of having Malbatross already spawned when encountering a shoal could be tweaked or removed as well. It doesn't seem to be intuitive or work correctly in my experience. I was just messing around with a world that happened to generate 16 malbatross shoals. I repeatedly teleported around all 16 in a loop and only one of them had the boss already spawned, despite being advertised on wiki that 25% of the shoals are randomly selected to spawn the boss every 3 days or so. Meaning I should have seen 4 already spawned in that would, not one.

Alright here's another ive thought of

 Make a hunt option for the sea. 

It could be a port for SW whales or a more consistent way to spawn Malbatross.

That’s actually a pretty rock solid idea, it can be used like a bear trap to snap on and root enemies in place for a short duration or something. would be great to make things like Koalephant hunting and MacTusk easier to trap and kill.

In fact, Steller's Sea Cow is ideally suited for sea hunting, given how much meat they had, as it was with the whale in DLS (although I would more like to see them as Living in groups  not far from the shore)
