However, it is important to note that he is just a human after all, albeit affected by nightmare fuel. You can see that by his sharp teeth and claw-like shaped hands. I think, physiologically, Maxwell is a human who has been affected by exposure to nightmare fuel. Nothing else that has been exposed to nightmare fuel has turned into a demon, so why would Maxwell?
