where exactly would WARBIS be applicable to use?

Recommended Posts

because it seems very niche on what and where you can use it, and at the point where you could use it, there's straight up better alternatives (brightshade gear/void gear)

i know that WARBIS is supposed to be a sidegrade that gives more leniency for boss fighting, 'cuz of the speed boost, damage increase and extra defense, but it falls a bit flat when you can't even switch targets for minion spawning bosses. not to speak that the damage increase isn't even worth it at that point ('cept if you're wolfgang or wanda, but whatever), since the brightshade sword with the helmet already deals a whopping 76 damage with no extra hassle

i feel like a teensy-tinsy buff would make WARBIS a worthy sidegrade, since right now i don't really see a reason to use it, aside from the funny speedy WX bug. i dunno, maybe i'm just stupid, but whatever

I couldn't find a use for that damn thing. The range for targeting is too short, the boost doesn't last, the damage reduction is kinda mid and the cost for upkeep is high. I'd think to maybe use it for using blowdarts but the lack of range and the high range bosses are very annoying to target.

I find same issue with void cowl and scythe, cause why would I wanna ramp up damage when i can do consistent damage and not waste time in losing that? Maybe it's probably also the lack of proper bosses to fight to use those things, since they've got so much aoe and range that these items just fall out on being mid at best.

Top tier right now is brightshade armor and weapon. Most consistent and basic damage wise.

Warbis should get higher range for the sake of focusing a single target and keeping track of that, or saving data and resuming to giving you the boost you need.

Void cowl should get a much higher amount of time for ramped up damage and reward you for avoiding damage more than not wasting too much time on trying to re-coop. Void cowl might fall under the bus ability wise for it's lack of consistency but void robe does have highest use like a bee queen hat even if not being one.

I would say the new lunar bosses (crystal deerclops and armored bearger) can make justification for it. There are some pretty good opportunities to get hits off, and if you are aggressive you shouldn’t have much downtime in either fight so the damage ramp can be maximized. It gets some bonus points for also dealing more damage to these bosses in particular.

I think honestly the main thing the scythe needs is just for it to do 68 damage without the cowl. I do find it a little silly that without it you are hitting for slightly higher then tentacle spike damage if you don’t equip the cowl, where the sword will still hit for 68 without the helmet.

Scythe doubles as a game changing harvesting tool whereas the bs sword is only a weapon though.

which means that you use the BS sword for fighting and drop scythes near farms to only use it to cut plants...

It depends on the fight.

For the zombosses you get a lot of downtime to just hold f, and if you're hitting like 20+ times the void gear + scyth outdoes BS gear by a few hundred damage.

Against older fights where you just dodge every 4-6 attacks the damage mod is kept up pretty easily.  If the enemy has a few thousand health like classic bosses the damage ramp with scythe is better than bs, although I'm not sure about BS + elightened crown...

Against smaller mobs - well the timer to reset the damage boost is pretty short so it will probably drop between mobs quickly making it much less effective.

Materials for BS gear is stupid easy to farm b/c if you're living on the surface you're practically force fed these mats though.  I think the bigger obstacle for void gear is burning green gems to re-up materials rather than the actual mechanics.  I trust with the next shadow content release we'll find easier ways of getting resources though.
