My thorough exploration and request for Ruins

Recommended Posts

Ruins, located deep in caves, are the last remnants of ancient civilization. This is an area where danger and rewards coexist, and countless players unfortunately die during the adventure journey, but if you can successfully conquer it, you will gain unimaginable power..

Although these biomes are very important, they have many problems. Not long ago, I posted a thread about problems of Ruins, trying my best to identify them and explain them:

In fact, besides the ones mentioned in the threads above, there are still many problems waiting to be fixed. Some have a significant impact on the game, such as:When a monkey was killed by the player, other monkeys will not return to the monkey barrel,If this function is implemented normally, monkeys will not pose such a great threat. The current monkeys will return to the barrel during earthquakes, which is also the result of my previous feedback. In DS, these functions can be implemented normally.Unfortunately, another issue is always unanswered.

In addition, there are a series of terrain generation problems such as Ruins passing through the entire cave, connecting to the cave exit, disorderly paths, and repeated set-pieces in Military. However, so far, only one Sacred set-piece issue has been fixed, and it was still during the second feedback. From so many problems, you can see how perfunctory Klei was when he rebuilt the Ruins.Even after so many years, they haven't looked back and checked, which is really sad.

I have done everything I can.Even though so many people responded to threads, Klei still did not provide any answers or explanations. I request Klei again, we really need a complete Ruins, please repair them!

i have experienced this many times but after killing few of them. They also drop everything they have pick

The ruins in DST : yum yum resources

The ruins in DS : I am traumatized

Obviously we can't get a server alone for the ruins, as you mentioned yourself mister Oshiro, but I desperately want this eerie, scary, stressful ambiance for the ruins again..

Also I like the idea of making those Poop throwers beard-meat-bags to run away. Yuck.

What a pity. Sometimes I really wonder if it's worth digging into this game so deeply... What you end up with is often not a satisfactory result and Klei usually doesn't fix it. :(

And I have to say I'm not a fan of "bringing back the background room for ruins". DST ruins mostly static layout feel more "artificial" and more different than the surface, is better to me.

I'm also afraid of another disaster like DS cave's changes in the big fix update.

It baffles me how Klei sometimes ignore bug reports even if they are reported multiple times, with clear analysis and even the solution to the bug. Makes me wonder if it's really worth reporting

The chances of seeing any instant reply from Klei is practically 0.

They usually don't respond unless it's a large amount of backlash or a sob story (sorry but true).

It doesn't mean they're not considering it though. Just means you may not see any changes for a few years. My guess is they don't like to comment on future prospects due to time constraints. They don't want people feeling cheated when it turns out they don't have time for it after all.

I like seeing these posts on ruins so I hope to see more from you. Don't give up, just keep reminding them slowly but surely. With them now developing for switch, console, and PC I can't imagine it being easy to maintain parity and world gen is probably the hardest to maintain that parity across the board.

Yeah, this situation is very common, and it is really difficult to guess the reasons for ignoring those bug reports. At present, it seems that they only fix issues related to the latest content.

3 of them are fixed. Were they fixed at the time this was posted?

I also think this is the case, however I just want to put my two cents regarding this matter. Any player who has done their own research on half-baked and/or buggy features will already know how much work it will require on the developer's part, this is why it would be unwise to expect those features to be fixed or changed in the next update.

However, those players don't do their research, go to the bug tracker and try to explain the whole thing to others on the forums just because they have too much free time or just because they like pointing out mistakes, they do it because they are passionate about the game and want to contribute towards it getting better. If anything, not even getting a "known issue" tag on their reports makes people feel cheated.

Yes. These are bugs that have been around for a long time, and the problem of monkey barrel burning even exists in DS.

Loving your dedication and efforts to make ruins what they could be with a bit more attention, keep up the good work :love_heart: Can only hope they get a dedicated update to adress certain issues and poor worldgen features in general.

Thank you for your encouragement. I have prepared an article about redesigning the Ruins, which may be released soon.
