YoT Dragon - Thoughts I've had.

Pretty simple questions and thoughts of mine.

Dragonfly or Saladmanders? Grass Geckos?

I've only been around to see two of these events, but I don't think there was ever a YoT event that changegd a boss, so Saladmanders would be the most likely option. But not really since they recently were given a new utility in the Wormwood skill tree. There are also Grass Geckos, but I don't know if they could be considered dragons. What I think has all the odds to be the protagonist is the lavae egg. It's rare item that doesn't seem to have many uses, apart from being a walking fire, and I'm pretty sure very few people has even given it a try (including me). Well, maybe I'm wrong and it will be Dragonfly, in which case, I think she will get her lunar variant. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Which do you think need more changes?

-Saladmanders got their uses with Wormwood's skill tree. I haven't used  them, but users write it's good. Outside that, they only serve for getting early Dragonfruits and looking cute. I don't think they need more.
-Grass Geckos are one of the best sources of grass. They also provide leafy meat, but why would you kill them? They're fine
-Dragonfly is overall a good fight.. The first step into more challenging aspects of the game for many. But what I don't like very much is the usage of the scale she drops.
a)Scaled furnace is okay, but I think it could be improved. Give the player the ability to turn stacks of logs into charchoal without having to burn forests, cook stacks of food at once, turn other items into ash.
b)Scalemail could use some improvements? I'm not gonna lie, I haven't used it. I don't think they're worth, having thulecite and log suits. It has its niche usages, but C'mon; 75% for an armor you get after defeating a 27k hp boss? They already took the step of 85% armors with WARBIS. Why not give that protection to this armor as well? and buff the duration as well since with higher protection, armor consumes more durability.
c)Scaled chest are too expensive for what they do. It's a chest with three more spaces... and takes up more room than normal ones... If they had more spaces and there was a way to craft multiple with a single scale, they would be a good upgrade to normal chests. Now they are worse space-wise and only serve for organizing bundling wraps and watches.
d)Scaled flooring is a decorational item and a good way to dupe scales, so that's nice.
e)Lavae egg is another item I've never bothered with. I've  hear some folks like it, but most of them just kill erase? don't care about it very much. I don't know what to say. It's an egg, literally unlimited possibilities.

So yeah, Dragonfly would need it more.

What would you do? What are your ideas?

I would add a dragon waifu, but that's out of the limits. Being slightly more serious, all the buffs to scale craftables I've mentioned are suggestions. I haven't beaten Dragonfly in a while, I don't find any of her loot particularly useful. Something leads me to say that the egg Dragonfly leaves behind sometimes has much potential, but I frankly don't know what could it be. Maybe also update the battle itself a bit. Everyone skips the enraged phase, nobody wants to deal with lavae. They practically don't exist.

I've ran out of things to say. Dragons are a high quality fantasy element for me, so hopefully everything will be okay. Skins must be more than okay tho. See you later.

Dragonfly makes the most sense to make a year of the dragon. Its in her name afterall.

I think it'll probably be Dragonfly. That having been said, year of the beefalo seems to have been an exception, as year of the bunnyman didn't really expand upon bunnymen at all, and all year of the catcoon brought to actual catcoons was their logs respawning when destroyed.

That is all I have to say about that.

Make the event where you can trade with the dragonfly for gems and scales. It's a dragon that hoards treasure, though I'm sure some treasure could be more valuable than what it has.

Trade in like boss drops to get rid of the large amount of deerclops eyes, Berger fur, moose/goose feathers etc.

I can see a deerclops eye trading for a purple gem or so (blue?).

You also have to perform a little dancy dance to appease it before trading. It also holds dancing competitions and if you fail it enrages and kills you.

Would be really cool if Dragonfly got a new makeover that makes her look like a Chinese dragon during the event.

I hope you can be friends with her. She seems lonely all year round just flapping her tiny wings 24/7 in one place. Maybe we'll get to pacify her with a new item temporarily to play a minigame with her during New Years  And she'll spit up goodies for us that we can use to decorate our bases with! Then she'll hold back the next time we fight her because we're her only friends.

DF is more like a Loong. Saladmanders and Grass Geckos are not. But Klei may make some new creatures like Carrat.
