Beefalo Domestication should be permanent

The title says it all really. I believe that once a beefalo is fully domesticated, they should never be able to lose it. I've had several worlds that I domesticated a beefalo only to eventually lose it, as I lost interest in the beefalo or forgotten to make a new salt lick. Domestication is a large time investment and should be rewarded effectively. Beefalo aren't always needed, and I don't like that whenever I domesticate one that I am effectively tied to it for the rest of a worlds existence. I don't find having to make 5 new salt licks a year a particularly fun mechanic, and would just as well have it not cost anything. That way I could use the beefalo when I wanted too, without fear of it losing domestication and starting a new herd. A mount should be a choice, not an obligation.

TLDR, Beefalo shouldn't have resource upkeep once domesticated.

I'm personally fine with it. But Now that you mention it, I would like to see a new type of salt lick thats made out of actual salt. Klei can make it last really long and and maybe make it fixable with salt so there would be an another reason to go to the ocean.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, by that point in the game 15-25 days of feeding steamed twigs to a beefalo isn't that hard, but I do like the idea of a more permanent salt lick. Right now my solution is to grab a pile of nitre and boards to make 5-10 salt licks that I have to replace around every 70 days. 

This works fine but can get annoying to replace, especially if we get 3 different beefalo it's a real chore. If we could get a fairly expensive but much longer lasting salt lick that is repairable I for one would appreciate it a lot. I wouldn't even mind if it was a boss drop I'd just like it in the game.

Or a few seconds after they buck you off. I've lost many a saddle that way. 

I think that we should be able to despawn a beefalo with a bell like it happens when we leave the server.

There was a bug when Maxwell refresh was in beta and you were able to put it in his magician's chest or magician's top hat and it would despawn as if the player left the game, It is sad that this was fixed.

that's literally what happens, the beefalo does the spiral portal thingy and leaves with you

Bugs/exploits should always be fixed

If they make player's game experience better, why fix them?

Developers have limited amount of time and games won't ever be limitless but bugs allow us to cross the limits they set.

That's actually true, I've seen players that use multiple accounts to be able to play as different characters when they need to do so and they don't need celestial portal.

If celestial portal was nerfed or removed as vocal minority wants, I'd literally just get a few more steam accounts and "swap" as much as I want.

Yeah this is all that is needed. The nitre one should be repairable too

I don't think we should because it removes the downsides of having a beef. Putting a beef in a pokeball would remove the whole risk aspect.

Don't they last 40+ days without any interaction from the player once domesticated? It needs a real level of neglect for them to go feral. I think I have my beef for over 5k days and never had a problem with it. I just want a salt lick that lasts a little longer or could be refueled because it does get costly overtime.
