I dont care about silksong. I dont play hollow knight. Why in the world klei would delay their beta because of some game? I say, delay beta even further because Borderlands 4 is releasing in following weeks.

 So stupid.

If your as old as I am you may remember a particular little fuzzy cartoon cat mascot who was around back during the Sega & SNES days. I am excited that BUBSY IS BACK!! I remember playing this with my Grandmother… she’s dead and gone now, but the Purrrfect Collection will surely be filled with nostalgia & bitter sweet memories coming September 9th 💗, But yeah there’s also Sonic Racing Crossworlds & Borderlands 4 all releasing in September.

I wonder if this beta will be skilltree or shadow arc

If skill tree, I hope it will be Warley, Wx and Webber.

Hope they fix spider lag too

Both, lets pray its both and yes i hope WX will get great skill tree so maybe i will switch from wigfrid to him

I don't think the developers are preparing the skill tree for the next important story update that will complete the story with the arcs.

Won’t they do skill trees now? It was a non skill tree update before, so now it’s the skill tree update turn isn’t it?

No. These two updates are focused on ending the From Beyond story Arch, I imagine skill trees won’t happen until after that.

Some games delaying to 2026 because of silksong is kinda stupid. Its big but not that big, if anything it makes an effect that releasing in September is the best because most other games cowarded away.

i've asked quite a few dst players about this to one degree or another and most of them won't be playing dst because of silksong. like, the people who will keep playing dst are people who a; dont know what silk song is or b; never played hollowknight and so arent interested or c; are hoping they can do both

i've even asked a fair few non-dst gamers and most of them follow the same trend. i think the only places i am not hearing anything about silksong is the 7d2d forums and the ropuka discord

Dang, is silksong releasing really a big deal?

i feel like I will choose dst update over silksong for a few weeks then switch to silksong, just like every time update was released.

UNLESS IT IS PROJECT ZOMBOID B42 RELEASED

wouldnt it be better to tidy up the characters then finishing the story? Idk I Imagine fighting the final very epic bosses n the others can do lots of stuff and the only thing you can do is shove circuits up your chest :wilson_cry:(character-wise)

True, characters without skill trees feel like they are left behind. I know thats not the case, that Klei can't just throw the remaining skill trees all at once, and that they will eventually finish all the skill trees, but for example Webber sucks right now, Warly too, Wanda is pretty much a no-hit character with low damage right now, and pre skill tree....man, playing old Walter in post-rift was the real hardmode lol

Webber has been overshadowed ever since Wurt was added.
Everything Webber does, Wurt does better.
It just feels sad that spider lag and AoE limit Webber so much.

What do you mean never asked? You respond to me, i respond to you. Thats uncivil. Anyway im not even thay invested in DST, it would be easy to just spare like 40 minutes to look at a dst update then maybe leave a few thoughts. Binging Silksong would also just make it less enjoyable for me, and i imagine many others share that sentiment.

This is perhaps the very point I was making - If you want a larger sample size, something you should want in any new patch, let alone a beta one which by definition requires feedback, you should release at a time that you're going to get that engagement.

Unless Klei don't really care for your feedback, that's possible

why if they release beta a week later, will they get more feedback from it? They will get feedback sooner or later anyway and it is better to release earlier

Just extend the amount of time the update is in beta??

That way we get even more feedback???

Do you think that will happen? Is that what you'd like? Sure.

Those who have been testing the betas were always a minority of those who come to the forums.
As Jakepeng99 said, testing a beta takes no longer than 30–40 minutes. This whole discussion is just because Silksong is releasing, and if someone really cares about any of this, they can spare that time for playtesting.

What even IS the next beta? We saw a trailer for Charlie being possessed before Klei took their intermission, yesterday was Labor Day so I knew that for the American Klei devs, there wouldn’t be any beta, but Today we’ve had no news or anything in quite some time… There are literal progression blocking bugs in the console versions of the game that as of now: Have yet to be hotfixed. And we aren’t getting a 2025 content Roadmap till the end of September.. I’m starting to believe DST has just about flatlined.

But what are you even expecting out of the next beta anyway? The final final boss fight of the game against Charlie?

what is uncivil about not asking people how long they intended to play?

also unless you are already entirely up-to-date with all the content, already  know what to do how to do it and the optimal way to finish it AND are not interested in doing more than a few seconds of looking at whatever the update contains i cannot imagine "40 minutes" would even be reasonable and even if you had done all that and met such a tight deadline only a fool would imagine the information gathered from all that rushing would be helpful. videogames are like food, sure you can inhale it as fast as humanly possible but you certainly will miss any and all ability to savour the tastes, understand the textures and enjoy the meal.

the longer a beta goe on the more fussy and mean playtesters get. we have documented evidence of that already.
