Most weapons have a built in durability limit meaning you must count out how many weapons you will bring to a fight. Having a monster heal at all compounds an existing problem in a non-intuitive, untrackable way that I would say is flatly unfair. Healing is usually a bad mechanic for npc enemies in games anyway, if you want them to take more damage just give them more health and avoid the bad play pattern. If you will include healing you need explicit counters to healing to suit any type of engagement. Zero people see crab king sneak in a few heals and get excited for what is to come. Many people go out of their way to jank the boss completely to avoid the entire mess. Its almost as dumb as when they had that time limit on Toad Stool... Klei makes mistakes and I really wish they would cop to it and clean them up but w/e. For which they give plenty and most importantly special blueprints one per kill meaning there's incentive to try doing it again just so everyone would have those for replayability sake. Since bosses are more like special resources that you get by challenge or innovation for how you kill them, it means character traits and the use of your world's resources is clear key to setting up permanent murder farms for late game worlds. And since people only kill bosses once then they are done with it all clearly shows for how non longterm people are just to make bosses scale for no reason besides wanting them to be weakened. I don't see reason behind them being changed apart giving them actual clear weaknesses to something they'd hate and would make them vulnerable for actual combat strategy besides face tanking till they fall. People made builds and farms to actual combat strats to deal with them that by exploitation or general combat they are weak already with right tools used. People want them to be weaker so that they can actually play and enjoy the content, not just the boss itself.. and it’s mechanics (such as Klaus or Ancient Guardian) but also because the games progress BEYOND Boss Fights are directly tied down & linked to- Yup you guessed it, Boss Fights. There are Puzzles linked to Boss Fights, there are Befriendment Quests tied to Boss Fights, there are collect & fetch quests tied to Boss Fights, and then- with the newest batch of updates: There are character skills and new world content tied to boss fights. Klei knew this though- which is WHY there’s a setting to enable the new world based challenges without having to do all the fetch/collect/puzzle & boss fighting that would otherwise be tied to said new contents. Now if only Moonstorms could be added to world Gen settings as well.. Each of them have methods to their killing, albeit better kiting or better preparations.
