Turf skins.

I'm not sure how hard it is to make new turf visual but they're 2D flat with no animation so I hope they are on the easier side of items to skin if even possible.

Look at this random image i got on google graphics.

What takes the most space here?
Turf takes like 80% space on the image.  

People would definetly spend money on something that is so visually significant. 
It's like more turfs except you craft the same turfs and use clean sweeper to apply skins on stack before you place them.


I'm sure many of us would like new cobblestone styles, less patchwork looking wooden floor, more carpet colors etc.

If it's possible it could be big money idea.

it does sound cool, yet I think it would be better to just add more turf crafts to the Terra Firma Tamper, as it would give the Terra Firma Tamper more of a use, as you said turf takes up a lot of space in builds and would not to lock something too important to a paywall. and also, as there's so many turf variants you could make of preexisting turfs it would make sense for the Terra Firma Tamper instead of 1 huge pack.

I'm not much of a builder so i may be wrong.

I'd rather new turfs be added to the game then turf skins, you have to think about how it works with the clean sweeper. Do you just right click the ground? That sounds really prone to misclicking when trying to reskin a different item, especially those with smaller hitboxes. Alternatively, if you have to dig up the turf in order to reskin it, then it becomes really tedious to swap out turf skins. It really would just be a waste of time to implement the ability to sweep the ground when making new turfs is a much simpler process.

There was a dev who commented on one of these points a lllooonngg time ago.

I believe they mentioned it was a bit awkward to make skins for turfs due to IDs and layering that usually comes with them.

Although on the topic of turfs, I wouldn't mind some future turfs with new mechanics. Could be subtle things like Scaled Turf. Not a whole lot of unique turfs in that sense!

hmmm, wonder if I could find it somewhere. and now unique types of turfs is starting to make me think: perhaps honey turf to slow things down? Or placeable webbing that don't slow players but boost spiders? oh the possibilities! :wilson_lightbulb:

What biomes? can't think of any in the overworld, caves? well it's a cave, like are you meaning like the rock lobster and rocky cave spider biome?

Klei making money is better, i'd rather paywall than ruins + archive + lunar event wall

A lot of turfs are reused for different biomes: rocky, savanna, forest, all the biomes that have multiple variants don't have variation in their turf design, there's more that I can't think of and ones that are in the caves too.

Some cave biomes reuse Overworld turfs as well.

The desert with antion(i think) has the same texture as unturfed floor just a different color
