Why don't your bilibili account set up a special section to collect beta information? Because I understand your forum has a beta branch. You should be ashamed that there are a lot of DST-loving Chinese players helping you translate the beta for free, which should be done by you. I think you should work harder to collect opinions from Chinese players, As JoeW says "We will be working to better improve communications with players outside of our forums in the future. " I want you to stop lying and do something about it. It was a brilliant initiative and lots of fun. Perhaps they could assign curators from the community who want to help in translating official information on their social media to certain languages. If such enthusiasts are out there and are offering their help, like you wrote, it would be prudent not to waste such an opportunity. The Klei Ambassador program was also a nice idea that they implemented quite a while ago. They can't just get the resources for translators to translate YEARS of updates overnight. This isn't something they can just snap their fingers and it's done. Do you know how many dedicated fans translate Japanese only games. What are they going to shame Japan for that lol? Frosty_Mentos Posted July 23, 2023 Share Posted July 23, 2023 They either have or don't have likely an on-hand on-demand Chinese translator for each of their updates at all times for few meager sentences they'd ever write down for both their updates and what they discuss. I'm not Chinese but I totally support for them to have spokesperson or someone to do that and communicate to Chinese community and back more since there's so many of you playing the game. It's rather not fair considering the differences in fandom sizes currently and for how many currently play the game from what been seen on stats. Not sure what's on Klei's mind but I'm sure they are trying to sort their priorities step by step as the game is rolling in with more new content and new opportunities to try and see more perspectives from all angles. They may have sold more than 50% to Tencent, but by size and the games they make they seem to stay relatively indie and safe without overexpanding. Unlike some recent companies that tried to go big and had to go home. Poor Brace Yourself Games. I just need them to translate the beta update announcement next time, which is a very simple thing for their staff to do. I'm not a translator but if they only have one person as you claim then it's not so simple? You usually need time to proof read and hotfixes tend to come out after a week. Edit: it's also possible the games translation to Chinese was outsourced by a third party. Requiring time to set up. Meaning Chinese game translators aren't just sitting around at Klei. But also consider this: If they were to post this in the Chinese community how do you think they will look over the Chinese feedback? One person is going to look over all of it? There is a higher chance your feedback will be missed. It would be disingenuous for them to post a beta in the Chinese community if they don't have the resources to accept that feedback. However if you come to the forums there is a higher chance your community feedback will be seen. That feedback has to be relayed to the developers where as here they look at it themselves. Its unfortunate you have to jump through hoops to be heard but you're not barred from sharing your opinion. They also wouldn't need just translators, but moderators and bilingual game developers to expedite the process. Developers post these hotfixes themselves making it smoother and faster. Hopefully Klei works to address this issue. Saying they should be ashamed isn't a good way to make bridges. There is a lot of work to be done. mima_ Posted July 27, 2023 Share Posted July 27, 2023 is this forum is blocked by china goverment or what ? why not just contribute in the klei forum instead other forum ? im understand language barrier etc . i saw many chinese using translator to post and they can still contribute i also have really broken english with translator doing the most job. i mean this website is the official Klei forum.. it wouldn't feel right to have a discussion mainly in facebook just because many of dst player have it XD they can have power to moderate the forum easier and gather feedback as much as they needed to in their own site ...
