While I have mixed feelings about the skill tree as a broad overarching mechanic across all characters instead of just one, I'm nonetheless excited to see how it will change things up for the rest of the cast, starting with Webber.

In no particular order or branching, here's my ideas on what our spider friend could have:

Tree 1: "Friends"   [helps gathering and buffing spiders]

Spoiler
  • Follow the Leader I-III   [more bang for your buck]
  1. "More spiders will follow Webber when fed meat."
  2. "A horde of spiders will follow Webber when fed meat."
  3. "A Swarm of spiders will follow Webber when fed meat."

  • Sharing is Caring   [a nice QoL feature]
    • "Friendly spiders will not eat dropped food."

  • A Little More Oomph I-V  [more damage, pretty basic]
    • "Friendly spiders deal a little more damage."

Tree 2: "Sweets"   [Buffs to switcherdoodles and spiders themselves]

Spoiler
  • Sweet Treat I-II   [more doodle efficiency, cuts down on grind, not very precise however]
  1. "Giving a switcherdoodle to a spider will also transform nearby spiders."
  2. "Even more spiders are transformed."

  • Sugar rush   [faster spiders, they are coming for you]
    • "Learn to craft a 'Peppy Pastry' that can be fed to spiders to give them a temporary speed boost." [affects multiple spiders]

  • Royal Feast   [Tamable Spider queen]
    • "Learn to craft a 'Silken Crown Cake', when fed to a Spider Queen they will become tamed."

Tree 3: "Toys"   [miscellaneous utility and unity accessories]

Spoiler
  • Toy Making I-IV   [helpful items]
  1. "Learn to craft a 'Silky Sack', [hacky sack], can be thrown to web up an area." [Wickers book, but as an item]
  2. "Learn to craft a 'Hurry Horn', [bike horn], makes friendly spiders move to the selected location" [lets you move spiders somewhere specific]
  3. "Learn to craft a 'Bloom Weave', [popsicle stick yarn weaving, looks like a flower] a structure that can be placed near decorated spider dens. Spiders will spin webs onto it over time, can be harvested for silk." [passive silk farming]
  4. "Learn to craft a 'Silky Sham', [Shamlet Mask] a mask to hide from pigs." [Shamlet Mask]

  • Tag, You're It!   [good for both swarm control, and starting civil wars easier]
    • "Using the Webby Whistle on a creature will make all friendly spiders attack them."

Tree 4: "Affinity"

Spoiler
  • Shadow Swarm   [cuts down damage from AoE attacks, more or less depending on planar alignment]
    • "The Queen has taken pity on your friends, when many spiders are harmed, they will be protected by the shadows."

  • Lunar Venom   [tamed spiders gain additional lunar planar damage]
    • "The Moon has blessed your spiders with lunar fury."

And that's about all the ideas that I have, feel free to suggest more. We likely wont get his skill tree for quite a while so we can only speculate what it will be like until then.

All of your suggestions are "bad" because they are too usable. Take a note from Wormwood and make the skills practically useless.
This is sarcasm.

damn your right, I should try better next time

For the "Sweet Treat", I think it should be "crafting more than one switcherdoodle  everytime" so that you can control the exact numbers of each type of spider.

that could also work, i figured it would make for a good skill since you can choose to not pick it, making its effect optional.

It was necessary there. In dst, this is not necessary

This is a really good idea

Alot of these are actually really good. Few ones that i think need changed: Silky sham, it is uneeded and could be removed.

The switcherdoodle one seems more annoying since you can transform already transformed spiders by accident.

I don't think Webber should be able to tame spider queens.

I don't like the shadow skill really since it just simplifies one of his weaknesses. Instead, i think it should be replaced with: The less spiders you have, the stronger they are! But the more you have, the weaker(They will grow overall weaker past 7 spiders)  Swarms will still amass more dps and be better agaihst single target, but this would be useful for aoe bosses as it can add some damage resistance and a small amount of damage.

I think everything else is a good idea, maybe the lunar perk needs some tweaking not sure.
