Warly Culinary Supremacy

This thread was written as a rendition of skill trees and I wanted to give my input on what I think Warly's tree will be. Something that I find difficult to predict, even because I had prepared a topic ("Alternatives to skill trees"), where I said that skill trees for each character seemed to dream too high, but it was wrong that the Klei developers won this one.

Starting with the theme Warly is a support character, whose mechanics are aimed at producing recipes that grant positive effects. Knowing this, I think Warly's skills will focus on new recipes, functional improvements to cooking tools, generation of food resources and a choice between shadows and the moon. Let's start by discussing how I think each of them will play out:

#"New Recipes": For here I envisioned adding 3 new recipes, each requiring a point to unlock. Warly already has good recovery, sanity, and health recipes, so the new recipes should be focused on effects. The recipes were thought of as "sweets" so that Wurt and Wigfrid could eat.

- Sweet Dream: Immunity to insanity auras for 5 min.

- Flan: Extra movement speed for 5 min.

- Garlic bread: Eater is placed as low focus priority during boss fight, effect lasts 5 min.

#"Functional improvements to cooking tools":
- Warly pans prepare food faster
- Chef's Bag now functions as a fridge, slows food rotting speed by 50%, but has to be recharged with nitre (6 days to fully discharge, 1 nitre = 100%). When it reaches 0%, it loses the enhancement and works as before, until it is loaded again.
- Seasonings have reduced manufacturing cost.

Hunger Route: Recipes prepared by Warly have a 25% increase in hunger stats.

Sanity Route: Recipes prepared by Warly have a 25% increase in sanity stats.

Route of Life: Recipes prepared by Warly have a 25% increase in health attributes.

#"Generation of food resources":
- Can debone fish, generating bone fragments and fish meat.
- Can generate butter from dairy products.
- Can extract salt from seaweed (4 seaweed = 1 salt).
- Food cooked at the stake loses negative effects.

#"Shadows and Moon": For these benefits I thought I'd lock them behind the fight against the celestial chaplain and the weaver of nightmares. As? The items required in the pots are the items unlocked by fighting the bosses.

Leftover Route: Unlocks the rotten pot recipe, where recipes prepared inside it have their stats maintained regardless of the level of deterioration of the food.

Moon Route: Unlocks the lethargic pot recipe, which doubles the duration of all recipes' effects.

I agree, maybe just a 25% increase in duration is already a good size.

I want Warly to have some perks that ARENT extra dishes too. Example:
Rancher Branch 1
Tier I: 50% higher chance of getting rare drops from neutral mobs (volt and beef horns and butter for example) and 15% higher chance of getting rare drops from enemies
Tier II: Get an additional meat from every mob that drops regular meat.
Tier III: Killing a mob with a sharp weapon gets you +50% meat.

Rancher Branch 2
Tier I: Collect more honey from beeboxes
Tier II: Have a 50% chance to get two eggs from a bird instead of one
Tier III: Beefalo have a 25% longer buck timer when ridden by you.



Requires atleast one of the two rancher Tier 3's, and you can only pick one.
Tier IV: Milk volt goats! Bottles incluided. (each goat takes 3 days before you can milk again)
Tier IV: Beefalos that are any amount tamed by you don't attack players while in heat

(i dont know game balance so some numbers should be changed)

A skill branch where they give us un-nerfed chef pouch back, 8 slots with ice box rate of spoilage, I don't mind the downside you listed. 

Hmm a branch also like.

Culinary Imports - Reach out to access foreign delicacies from other worlds.

  • Adds a chance of rare food materials to be ejected from an unnatural portal *or* caught in an ocean trawler (maybe from a hunting trail or ocean debris too, idk)
  • Increased chance ...
  • Increased chance ...

Ingredients could be:

  • Roasted coffee beans (ingredient for the almighty Coffee), roasted so that only Warly can reliably get it.
  • Orange Piko (ingredient for the second place Tea + Iced Tea)
  • Gummy Slug (ingredient for Gummy cake)
  • Uncommon/rare materials that are present in the game (volt goat horns, ewecus stuff . . . etc.)

No possibility of Woodlegs in sight so might as well make Warly the one who focuses on fauna (game/hunting, fishing) while Wormwood on the flora (farming)
