Umbralla should g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶v̶e̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶s̶p̶e̶e̶d̶ allow you to walk in the void.

Poeple already use the gate hack anyways, then why not make it into a feature?

It would satisfy people who feel like the item is underwhelming, the people who are not fans of cave generation and also probably everyone else.

Some limitations to the item:

  • It should lose durability quicker while walking in the void.
  • It should take few seconds to teleport the player to the void (to prevent easy escapes from the dangers of the caves like shadow creatures, splumonkeys etc...)
  • If, during the void walk, the player unequips it or if the umbralla breaks, the player should "drown" in the void.

Maybe you can right-click it and it starts making you float mary poppins style and that allows you to go over the void but its durability drains super fast? That would be a very sick ability and fit really well for a nightmare umbrella that's supposed to be a super high-tier item

Yeah, there is potential for some cool animations too. I just wanted to make a suggestion that would take as little development time as possible.

If they make void walking a thing then they need to think about what should happen if you drop your stuff in the void.

Now you can say “void walking is an “exploit” so you shouldn’t have dropped your Krampus Sack on accident”.

there can be a block for throwing items into the void, like characters saying "i don't think this is a good idea" or something
