question resetting player-specific data

i wanted to reset my data for the gardeneer hat and maybe the cookbook but i can't figure out how, i've figured out how to reset the amount of insight wilson has but that's about it

lakhnish_monster created a mod for that on steam workshop, though form descreption I think you have to do some stuff yourself. If you type "reset" in workshop search bar you should be able to find it easily.

the mod works but is there also a way to remove the steam data?

Ooof. Sorry for a late reply but I got carried away by other things. As for your question I have no idea. I never used this mod nor needed a data wipe. I only remembered that this mod existed and wanted to help a little bit.

You can create an empty file for each of them, an easiest way to say.

steam wont sync back if the files are just empty? i'm pretty sure it still does

yeah, if there was a way to cancel that then i'd just mark this topic answered if you can do that on here or if not i'd probably hide or delete it

I don't understand why you cannot avoid steam sync. Make the file read only, delete it before, during and after a game session, edit steam's vdf file, transfer to local save and back to cloud save, etc. There must be a way to do so.

i'm not sure how to do those things, i'm not sure what read only means, and what the vdf file is or where it is, and also how to transfer to local and cloud save, but it'd be nice to know if there's maybe a video on it?

 

i tried to make it read only, didnt work, i tried deleting it during a game session and it didnt work, i want to try doing the thing with the steam vdf file but i don't know what to change as it might just delete all my don't starve together data, and i dont know how to transfer from cloud and local saves

 

also when i turn off steam cloud it still re-adds the gardeneer hat data so maybe its on my klei account?
