These things deserve a higher priority.

Your best bet is to re-report things.

As someone that practically lives in the bug tracker, they 100% try to fix as many bugs as they can. It's just that not all bugs have an obvious solution to them and they have other work they are responsible for as well (infinite bugs but not infinite time).

And yeah, you're right that when a new update comes out, the new set of bugs that need fixing often takes priority (and the old bugs gets buried), but that's also a good time to report your bugs as that's when you know they are spending the time fixing bugs.

Jesse recently fixed a long standing bug where the game would crash upon launching a world, but that took a while and even I was surprised at what the cause was.

Exactly. Some issues would need elaborate changes, which take time and effort. They are probably left hanging also because of the risk of breaking or inadvertently introducing other problems. The game has many complex mechanics at this point. It does not feel fair to be harsh to the developers, since they are constantly working on the game, plus the fact we recently received a metric ton of bug fixes for Don't Starve which nobody expected (complaints for these bugs were more justified since they were more game-breaking and the game is not under as active development as Don't Starve Together).

Personally I don't mind waiting longer as long as an update ends up polished on release, albeit not necessarily fully fleshed out. Seasonal events make more sense to have on their respective holiday though.
