Carrot shenanigans

I usually just eat my food, but I found on pub a laying picked carrot... And I was able to "spin" it? 

Whats the purpose of doing this? since when this was added? And what does this white line means?

It's from the Year of the Bunnymen.

The bunnymen that would be summoned from the event shrine would spin a carrot and whoever the white line landed on, that bunnymen would have to eat a hairball.

Now since the event is over, you can just spin the carrot.

It's a left over from Year of the Bunnyman.

Does nothing, is funny though.

White outline is showing the direction it landed in. I hear people use it to determine where they explore on new worlds, I think it's funny.
