Bring back the complexity

I agree with that one basically. The game does not feel challenging and threatening enough. No anxiety because of possible more serious diseases or other things, and thus no suspense. It's just that you don't care much about that.

I hope they will add that into the game, or at least make it optional. Although I prefer it the hard way: it should be a necessary element of the game everyone has to deal with.

Do you not use/like the Diseases Restored mod? It's been out a while and it's fairly popular according to the stats. Makes it dangerous to use germy water on plants and in closed loops for bathrooms too. I'd imagine this is everything that you want and then some.

The point is, I expect this to be implemented officially, by the legit ONI developer team. I mean, you can use all kinds of mods for everything endlessly. But that is not what I want.

Also, the developers can implement these features better.

Yeah, this is pretty common feedback. There are mods to make diseases more challenging/interactive, but those who prefer playing without mods can pretty much ignore germs.

My hope is we will get some story trait for them that will come with additional severity settings for diseases - similar to recent meteors update.

I agree. There should be a difficulty selection to make diseases and germs actually matter. Even on maximum difficulty, they're a 100% non issue. I regularly turn diseases off entirely using FastTrack, since they just take up CPU cycles without providing any gaming enjoyment.

I had suggested this before.  I just started playing again and my game kept crashing because Diseases Restored is broken (it needs a rebuild from source against the new version; there's a reupload by someone else to fix this now).  "I hope one of the players didn't get bored with this game and stop maintaining a core feature for no pay" isn't a sane state to operate in.
