    • Bright red

Recently we have been acquiring more and more ancient nightmare objects outside the ruins, and I think it is increasingly becoming a problem that needs to be solved:  What color should the Ancient Nightmare theme be? What colors should the player see?

As we all know, the objects in the ruins are actually magenta, alternating between bright red, blue-purple, and gray as the Nightmare Cycle filter. This gives the player an effect of red energy flowing through the grey device/floor.

But for ancient nightmare themed objects outside the ruins (like new bosses and items in this update), their original magenta color is exposed without the Nightmare loop filter. It's like we go behind the magician's back, and in the ruins, the beautiful illusion it created for us disappears, there's no magic energy, the floor color has always been the same.

This makes the whole series theme bad, so I suggesion recoloring the texture of ancient nightmare theme objects outside the ruins, make them red themselves to solve the problem. What do you think about it?

Edit: Added the third poll

As far as new content is concerned, I would not be surprised if new shadow items down the line where either Red, Purple or in-between from here on out. It could be a away to discern different types of shadow magic depending on hue.

Red is nice but I am open to new ideas from the devs, its always nice to see something different content wise. As long as the game feels like it retains some of the Charm of the constant, I have no concerns.

I noticed that you chose "magenta" and "Support changing their colors to keep them bright red", I am a little confused, could you please explain?

oh my apologies, I did not look close enough, that was my bad, I suppose im more so inline with "don't mind"

Ultimately I don't think too much of it, but... It would be cool if it was more faded and grey whilst you where sane, and when you where Insane, that harsh red could come out more!

That I think would be a nice touch.

Ancient fuelweaver is still bright-red colored instead of magenta, and it makes sense for other nightmare-related stuff to be bright red since thats the color of the filter applied when you’re at low sanity. I’m fine with it being magenta, but I personally prefer bright red.
