Gi-Go
What if winona could craft a small crafting factory that works like alchemy engine plus big chest? You put a bunch of resources into it, you press on the item you want to craft, but instead of crafting yourself - the machine crafts them automatically and fast using it's inventory? It's a perfect invention! It helps with a QoL issue I had for years, it improves poorly designed "perk" of faster crafting, it buffs Winona in a way everyone wants (more machines), and it fits Winonas character a lot more since she hates handmade objects. I think this is the greatest idea the mankind has ever had. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/146081-winona-factory/ Share on other sites
Cheggf
I don't like that idea very much. I'm going to come up with a much better idea: What if Winona could craft a small crafting factory that works like alchemy engine plus big chest? You put a bunch of resources into it, you press on the item you want to craft, but instead of crafting yourself - the machine crafts them automatically and fast using it's inventory. I see no issues with my idea. I'm a fan of my own idea that I just came up with. Seems like number 1 priority to me. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/146081-winona-factory/#findComment-1621326 Share on other sites

On your idea, I don't really understand it, from what I get is that you mean a machine that crafts things but it seems redundant for simply crafting things, her second main perk after all is fast crafting. 1 hour ago, Gi-Go said: she hates handmade objects. I wanted faster crafting as a QoL feature before Winona was added and was kinda annoyed that she took it as a perk for herself because that makes no sence from gameplay standpoint and is obviously just a thing slapped on Winona because klei had no idea what to do with this character. I am a wiker/Maxwell main. I don't know why but my favorite thing to do in this game is to build efficient resource farms. Books are very good for growing stuff and Maxwell is very good at collecting it. But then there's the part where I have to actually utilize resources I gathered, and have you ever tried refining 20 stacks of reeds into papyrus or blowdarts? It's a disaster. Some times I just stockpile multiple chests and then swap to Winona to refine them. But don't you think that's dumb? Swapping to a character just to save a few minutes of standing still clicking button? It's still painfully slow and boring. Winona is not a good character and is better off swapped after crafting catapults. I figured, why not as well craft an item to help me refine stuff quickly without having to swap characters constantly. Cheggf
A machine that automatically refined things you put into it (instead of selecting a recipe) and spit them out onto the floor would feel a lot more like Don't Starve instead of Tekkit. 11 hours ago, Just-guy said: No... they are just mocking you. Why does everything need some greater purpose? I left the comment because it's funny. There's nothing more to it than that. MooseNe0sanc3
Before even thinking about a factory machine/engine, they should have more items only she can craft or refining her present items. Her catapults are useful but expensive to set up. The generators should have a wider range or at least an on/off button like the ice flingomatic. And the spotlights... oh, the spotlights... actually let's just not talk about the spotlights. It is kind of jarring now that you mention it... these quotes would make a bit more sense if there were some factory/industrial elements in her perks, like Gi-Go's auto-crafting machine or something. Fill-Lips
This idea has come up before, and honestly I don't mind it either. Have a bunch of logs but can't be asked to manually turn them into boards yourself? Stuff em into a refiner! Would be quite the time save. If ever winona is expanded on to include these ideas, then I would think her gameplay would become comparable to games like Factorio, Satisfactory... Hell, even ONI's lategame automation would be a good example too! ...Etc. Her cannons already give some automation to mob farms, why not give her more?
