Some thoughts on possible events that could occur

Recommended Posts

I had this idea recently and I would like to exemplify with some possible events that could have in the game.without further ado, here we go.

(Pig invasion)

If players killed several pigs near the pig king region the king would get angry and after some time he would order some guards to invade his base and order them to destroy everything in it. To get out of this trouble, the player should go to the pig king (who would probably have some animation or sign that he's mad at you) and give him some gifts like meat, eggs or even those trinkets found around. After that he would be happy and not send the guards.

(Snowman gang)

During winter there would be a chance that at dawn the player would run into a supposed "harmless" snowman somewhere in the base, if the player approaches and melts him with a torch he will say something with "revenge" and then after that day after day more and more snowmen would appear around the your base. They would just stand there saying nothing, until one night they would come to life and attack the player throwing snowballs in their direction. The most effective and efficient way to deal with them would be using torches or anything else that would make you melt. The real problem is that the snowballs thrown by them can end up lowering the player's temperature quickly if they are unprepared. After the player completes this small event, the snowmen will drop throwable snowballs and also the rare chance to drop some kind of magic snowflake core which combined with a top hat, some ice, snowballs and a carrot you would be able to create your own snowman that would act as a sentry to help with hostile threats, and yes, he would melt in summer.

(Garden invaders)

I recognize that not everyone will agree with this but, between us there is not much danger around the plantation system in the game, of course, there is the
lord of the fruit flies but I believe he is not a real great threat like that, it's because That's what I thought in this event I called Garden Invaders. These are
invaders like flies, crows and rats (maybe) that will unite for a single objective, to destroy your garden.

With that in mind, the player should protect himself against these possible pests with some items or even the plants themselves.
Starting with the items, I thought of 3 of them:

Spray: An item that when used would release a toxic cloud that would neutralize flies and scare away other creatures from that particular location.

Speaker box: Small box created from gear that when placed on a scarecrow will emit a constant sound that will drive crows away from your crops. From time to time the box would lose its sound power and that would require some maintenance, you can also turn it off and on again whenever you want.

Gas sprinkler: The name says it all, a sprinkler that, instead of releasing water, it will release a kind of cloud of spores from time to time, this cloud would scare away and keep away any insect or unwanted being from your garden, to recharge it would need an odor capsule created from some garlic, durian or anything very smelly

New allied plants

There would be a small chance that a big and strange seed would appear in some farm soil during the spring, after planted and taken care of correctly it could grow and become one of these 3 new allied plants.

1-Bigbite

Bigbite would have a great resemblance to the Venus flytrap plant, its main form of attack is using its large mouth as its main weapon, biting and attacking any unwanted intruder that dares to approach its garden. Her main food source is manure, although she could be fed monster meat.

2-Prickly pain

Prickly pain is shaped like a funny cactus but don't be fooled by that, because its spines are devastatingly painful. Its form of attack is similar to Spiny Bindweed which launches a thorn root damaging all invaders that approach the harvest. Its main food source is the growth formula.

3-Shoot-load

Among all the other plants, this one is the most interesting. Unlike other plants that attack through roots or bites, this one attacks through seed shots which you must give to her. She accepts any type of seed as ammunition, the player would be able to know if she is loaded or not through a bulb where the seeds would be deposited, bulb small is because it is empty, big bulb is because it is full. Their main food source is compost.

Note: It is worth mentioning that garden invaders only appear when there is a large concentration of fresh or rotten food in the farm's region.

Note2: If your friendly plant dies it can drop an item, such as a new type of tentacle spike dropped from Prickly pain or even a fly swatter from Bigbite.

(Barren land trader)

A kind of "one person caravan" that would originally appear in the summer somewhere in the desert, along with her faithful pet chicken named Mike.
He would provide several items such as new, and in exchange for some dishes made in the crock pot. He would have a very varied pool of items,
being able to sell 4 random items, 2 rare and 1 blueprint.

Here are some items I figured it could be sold to:

(Unique rare item)

-Shell of sky: Shell capable of summoning rain. (has 3 or 5 uses)
-Propeller hat: A hat that when used will give you a speed bonus when you start moving. (has durability)
-Tesla tree: A small decorative tree that emits a small ray of light
-Pet bag: A small backpack that when delivered to the pet would provide him with a total of 6 slots to store items, but be careful, if your pet is not fed properly
he will leave the bag lying around.
-Canine offering altar: Structure that, when placed meat on top of it, will prevent the next hounds from happening. The meat is consumed in the process along with the wear and tear of the altar. (has 3 uses before it breaks completely)

(Exclusive Blueprints)

-Wood Bucket: Bucket used to store water or manure, can also be used as a helmet if empty
-Rocky Claw: Stone claws created from Rockjaw's jaws that are used as a weapon, deals 56 damage.
-Storage saddle: A beefalo saddle which has a total of 12 storage slots.
-Marble hammer: Hammer upgrade with 300 uses.
-Scythe: tool Able to collect grass and sticks much faster
-Sea salt licker: Upgrade the salt licker with 720 uses.

Note: some of these items are ideas from people I've seen on the forums over time, while others are features that haven't been implemented in the game.

-Bonus-

If you stay much longer with low sanity it would activate a trigger called "sanity stalker" which a big humanoid shadow would just watch you.
She doesn't do anything, but if you attack her she will attack too.

How to deal with these events? it's very simple..

Pig invasion: don't kill pigs near the pig king
Snowman gang: Completely ignore when one of them appears
Garden invaders: just collect all your crops before the worst happens
Barren land trade: you can ignore it completely if you want
Sanity stalker: just take control of your sanity and don't go insane for too many days ok?

Well, these were some ideas I had of possible events, some of them being seasonal and some not. I wanted to know what people think of this, if it's a fun idea that would add  to the game or just a boring and tedious thing. Thank you to those who read and see you soon :D

sorry if the text is confusing and sorry for the bad english XD

I like most of these ideas, especially a use to pets but I would make it 4 slots because we wouldn't want to overshadow Walter. But I like the pig invasion idea, robbing the pigs of their homes and murdering their village for "free drops" should not go unpunished.

I like the trader idea, would give something to do in summer as there isn't much to do currently.

Don't like the other ideas though, winter already has plenty to do. The pig one would never happen as most players would just remove the houses and then trade in the graveyard trinkets to pernamently appease him, also this would just ruin solo Wurt worlds. Farming already has enough management to not need more going off. And we have cute lil skitters stalking us at low sanity, don't need some shadow humanoid stalking us, we already have Charlie for that.

I think we're getting the pig guard raids this year. They were portrayed in WX's rework trailer for a reason. However, I'm afraid they would get nerfed them into the ground after the beta feedback,

It's just a consequence that I thought would irritate the king, it would probably be more elaborate or perfected, and yes, I didn't get to think what might happen if you happened to destroy the pigs' houses or regarding wurt

no that was just a thing from the animators doubt it was a teaser

either way i dont like some of these ideas they either sound annoying to deal with like the pigs and snowmen, or not too dst like, more fit for a mod, like the gardener or the merchant one

Your harder Survival/negative buff proposals, OP, would make for hilarious griefing tools in pubs, akin current Terrarium mechanic. Imagine that @$$hat Ruins-rusher WX popping up all PK biome's Pig Homes to only have Warrior Pigs absolutely destroying some Wilson & Wendy across the map and their shy-attempt-at-survival camp. Golden! Same for Snowmen or garden madness.

Rest paint you as an "Uncompromising mod" enthusiast. Keep them like that - in a mod.

Caravan Trader or some other seasonal NPC could be interesting. With some boss-mechanic attached to it maybe?! Stuff & things..
