[suggestion] Give Wonkey his/her/their own quotes

Recommended Posts

Quotes are the main way we can see character personalities, and it's strange to see some characters throwing away their principles when they become monkeys. Wigfrid would rather die than get out of character, Wurt hates meat (I don't think that suddenly being able to eat it would change her mind) and Warly,  who I don't  play often, so I don't know his personality, but he must have his reasons for eating only crock pot dishes.

There  are also characters whose perks and drawbacks have nothing to do with the specie they are (Example: Walter, the fearless), so turning into a monkey shouldn't make them lose them.

So, instead of making Wonkey adapt to each character personality, why not make Wonkey have his/her/their own quotes? It would make him/her/them more interesting (assuming they won't be "uh-uh ah-ah" or variations).

It's not hard to imagine that the monkey curse would also affect the mind of the affected.

Sorry if my English is bad.

In full honesty as much as I'd adore this I'm not actually sure how feasible it is.

I don't think a lot of people actually know how much time and effort goes into writing the... like, 8K or so lines for each character.
Not to mention the amount keeps going up with each and every update.
Maybe a compromise would be where only specific ones like food rejections are changed? Dunno.

I'd love it I would but I don't know if it'll happen!

I haven’t played the new update since I play on console so I can’t speak too factually on what Wonkey is, but I know he’s a curse. The curse being able to fully alter someone’s body shows it’s pretty severe, so it’s not too ridiculous to think it would alter your mind a bit too. They may lose their ideals and opinions because they’ve literally turned into a monkey, and consequently think like a monkey too.

I’m also all for new quotes, but that entirely depends on what Wonkey is, is he a living thing that takes over the host completely? If so, new quotes are in order. Or is he simply an altering of the victim’s mind and body to become a monkey? New quotes are unnecessary if it’s the latter.

Reading the comments gave me an idea. If Wonkey is not an entity that possesses the survivors, then it would be good to change most of their quotes for "uh-uh ah-ah" or variants and giving them different quotes when examining something meaningfull to the survivor who is cursed. I imagine Wonkey-Maxwell saying something like "Char... li?" when examining the Codex Umbra and Wonkey-Wurt saying "Glurp?..." when examining a merm. That would show that the curse makes them forget about who they were, but there are some things that are so etched in their minds that can't be completely forgotten.
