Toaster Fu
Welcome! Build a science machine and put stuff in it. A good rule to keep in mind is the rarer the item the more science points you will get.

PringleMan
I usually pump gold into it. That seems the most cost effective item to feed it at the early game. It does not take much to get a few gold nuggets and they give a pretty good amount of tech
Bogpad
you can always use digged up grass tufts, they give 20 points, 5 more than gold, and are the fastest thing to get, you just have to be carefull to not overdo it, since they are, while plenty, still not infinite. Sara
not infinite.true, but you don't need them in the game... (the digged up items)
Bogpad
true, but you don't need them in the game... (the digged up items)well, you can always replant them. I would not dig up grass near my camp to feed it to the machine, because at some point, I start gathering grass tufts to place them within the light radius of my camp in bunches, so I can harvest them during nighttime and don't need to waste time on this during day, same with saplings. Thats why I would only feed tufts to the science machine that I gathered on more uninteresting islands that most likely will never be inhabitated by me at any point of my current life.
