Magheat2009
Currently, all tiles in the same tile category look the same. For example, granite and igneous rock tiles look exactly the same. It will be nice to have varying texture for tiles made from different materials, like differently coloured gold and lead tiles. Not only will this enhance the aesthetic element of game-play, but also make the game little bit easier to play. If possible, this can be extended to some things like pipes as well. As the art team works on the next update, this might be something nice to add. goboking
Personally speaking, I'd rather not be forced to choose between optimal materials and most aesthetically pleasing materials when building something. pether
there is a mod for that and I believe it should stay in the Mod Realm. It's a good mod, but I don't use for esthetic reasons - I like all my buildings look the same, not with different tints for every resource used. Many people like it and I can see why, but I just prefer playing without it. Also, if I were art team member I would be really sad if I worked on some cool piece of art only to see somebody smash random colors on it and totally destroy my vision Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/138318-unique-texturescolours-for-tiles-made-from-different-materials/#findComment-1549264 Share on other sites
Ellilea
I'd like this very much. The problem with the mod is that all it can do is blanket apply RGB tints over the entire sprite. A proper edit could simply change specific bits of the file and make it look distinguished. For instance changing only the metallic elements of a building, or only the top-side of the tile. To give variance, but not create a clustercluck. Oi! I mauled the naughty word. That should only become a problem if some textures end up looking hideous. Nothing a bit of feedback cannot fix.
