Racso5
Good news everyone! Steam user Bodzio, author of the "Pliers 2021" mod, just released an update to this mod which adds the Errand Mode option to make pliers require Dupe interaction to perform the disconnect action. Here is a short video to demonstrate the functionality of this feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UYhFr9aeKk And here is a link to the mod in the Steam workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2629866529 Again, this feature is optional and can be enabled/disabled in the mod settings. This is great news for every ONI player who considered the original Pliers mod to be beneficial but also too OP/unbalanced - thanks to Bodzio we now have a balanced version of this mod. Great work Bodzio!!
Jann5s
I really think this should be in the game
Fradow
Time to switch to a new Pliers mod it seems! Thanks for that feature. It has been a long-standing complaint by people who like to keep the game as close to the original while using only strictly Quality of Life mods that pliers without dupe errand was unbalanced. Now with this modification, it can truly considered a strict QoL mod, so thanks a lot!

Well then those people are objectively wrong, since connecting pipes is instantaneous. Thus the new mode takes them further from being close to the original, and out of balance with connecting pipes. I understand your side of the argument, but it's a subjective take on the subject. Disconnecting pipes without Pliers requires Dupe Labor. Disconnecting pipes manually is inherently more useful than connecting pipes manually, because it allows to do things that are otherwise difficult to achieve with Dupes or require more infrastructure, like precisely controlling when to stop a pipe flow. Pliers also make the plumbing skill totally irrelevant. Even if you mess up, you can trivially reverse a pipe flow by disconnecting at the right places then connecting things so it goes the other way. Without it, you'll be forced to deconstruct some sections (or construct others) which means emptying pipes or having a mess. But hey, it's an opt-in feature, everyone can use the mod however they wish and nobody has to agree on what's "closer to the original".
strudo76
I'd like to see a hotkey modifier to toggle errand or non errand operation. In principle I like the errand mode, however there are times when I accidently connect a pipe in a sealed area due to the default ability to instantly connect pipes, or due to the save/lag/drag problem that occurs from time to time. It would be useful to be able to use errand mode by default, but hold a hot key modifier to do instant mode to fix these situational issues.
