But I wish solo players could not have their already small portion of content be taken away. And while I do call em speedrunners I guess the proper termin would be boss rushers. They aren't as common but they still exist. And I think majority of Wolfgang players love boss rushing. So far I've meet one who doesn't and I'm confused what his preferences are. There are also such things as Glitch Speed Runs where people intentionally abuse an unintended glitch to get the fastest completion time possible. This type of gaming playstyle… can it even be called gaming? Are you even enjoying the content of the game? Or are you just trying to beat some world record to pat yourself on the back? So I pose the question: If you pick a character because they are the best of the best of the best: Are you really speed running the game & enjoying it?? Or just using the option that gets you your record fastest? Challenge: Speed Run every single bit of Content DST has to offer, don’t rush X or Y but instead… beat every boss, kill at least one of every mob in the game, craft every food item, farm every farm plant, build every structure, craft every single craftable and do it as Every single character- THEN you can proclaim you have successfully speed ran DST. Until then… your only picking Wolfgang because he’s the best choice in doing it.. or Was, till they removed his Speed.. now WX78 or Wormwood may be contenders in the Weeeee go fast Speed Runs. Gi-Go
Hmf. "Boss rush" if that's your preferred termin. Console player is being a sour grape again, as he will never experience and appreciate exhilaration of a good run with his whacky controls. And if killing bosses as fast as humanly possble is not the reason for picking Wolfgang, then I don't know what is. In PvP you expect balance because if not you cant do nothing agaisnt an OP character and not taking in count tournaments since i dont know if smite doesr these. Riot was already polemo because they balance the tournaments patches like monkeys using drugs balance doesnt matter in an adveture/sand box/ single player/ platform/ any non competitive game. The only balance that matter is to prevent things going nuts which breaks gameplay loops, makes things pointless or just makes the game less fun (x3 damage doesnt matter but would ne boring a 1hit ko character) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/136156-what-is-a-wolfgang/page/3/#findComment-1524192 Share on other sites

The only balance that matter is to prevent things going nuts which breaks gameplay loops, makes things pointless or just makes the game less fun (x3 damage doesnt matter but would ne boring a 1hit ko character) I said and cooperative: like Borderlands, they had to rebalance Borderlands because even though a 4 player coop game: some characters skill trees allowed them to absolutely plow through content leaving any that Wasn’t this OP character choice: Bored out of their minds just watching. For the original Borderlands Mordecai’s bird killed every enemy in screen and needed to be Nerfed, for Borderlands 2- Gauge’s Robot had the same kinds of OP perks that had to be rebalanced. It doesn’t have to be Competitive multiplayer game to need balance changes, it has to be something that directly hinders other peoples enjoyment of playing the game. God could you imagine poor Klei having to nerf/buff & balance things on the same frequency as Smite? Lmao Klei is a small indie company… there’s no way they could handle weekly patches when fans cry “this or that is OP needs Nerf, so & so is underperforming please buff.” You end up with this horrible mindset of everything needs nerfs/buffs then when you do that something that WASNT so out of balance becomes out of balance and then it also needs tweaking it’s a never ending cycle and I don’t think there’s ever a time where developers of MOBA’s or large scale cooperative games ever have any breathing room not to be making changes based on fans demand. With DST being Klei’s first attempt at a multiplayer Dont Starve of course some things will feel out of place or a little rough around the edges… but I have to applaud them for all the effort they actually have been putting into transitioning what once was a single player game over into a multiplayer atmosphere. Kudos to all the staff working tirelessly at Klei.. you guys deserve credit for all that you do (even if not everyone agrees with it) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/136156-what-is-a-wolfgang/page/3/#findComment-1524200 Share on other sites
