The RX5xx series was not even hinted in AMD's 'hardware propaganda' at that point (they were quick to do so, though) and I'd long since gotten rid of windows and its minor associated issues. (I even only use it as a virtual machine in an emergency.) As a side note, a factor that is popping up more often when it comes to buying games for me is linux compatibility (evaluated as coming strictly from studio, not steam). It does make me want to spend more. Spoiler I've removed D**m Eternal from my wishlist today, actually; the big B's support is not official so I'm officially not granting them my seashells. Right now I'm waiting on next year's hardware offerings to upgrade the usual MOBO, CPU & RAM. If anything, I will say in advance that RAM's ECC capabilities will be a must in my choices and will influence the other two hardware pieces as much as budget will. (I.E.: ECC in RAM is the #1 requirement and budget is #1.5) I'll keep the GPU as is.
