Rocket auto pilot? Remote control?

Dear All. I am rather experienced in original Oxygen Not Included but here, in Spaced Out the rocketry system is different. I am trying to start mining Sandy Ore Field 3 tiles away, using Drillcone rocket. It looks like rocket is ready. Description says that rocket is twice faster when manned, than on autopilot. In Crew Manifest it is said that those points in checklist are recommended. (So they are probably not necessary.)

The question is how to get advantage of autopilot? I didn't found it in Rocket tab nor Station tab.

You don't need to build an autopilot, if that is your question. Autopilot is engaged, if dupe for some reason can't pilot rocket right now. But you can't launch rocket without pilot.

But you can drop a dupe down with a trailblaizer module into your main planetoid and leave the rocket to go on its own. it will mine automatically and if you set it to come back it will be able to land on its own. Meaning you don't need to feed the dupe and give them oxygen inside the rocket. Also what is your interest in mining that sandy ore field?

Oh I get it. So actually pilot is required only for the launch sequence.

There is only one available from main asteroid and I need to test the technology first, before any further steps.

It would be great if Klei would make it optionally possible to operate rockets without dupes inside - These type of rockets could be called cargo rockets or something in DLC2.

These cargo rockets would work like in the old base game for space resource collection ( without dupes inside ) + it would be great if they could be used as dedicated mass cargo transports.

But flight time will be 2x times longer, plus trailblazer module will introduce additional burden. Not sure about mining time.

I am playing with 3 Duplicants and I wouldn't really care for this additional time.
