Sturm58
Hi there. I would like to do some builds using Mechanized Airlock however I rememer from the past, that they used to delete gases and water (ex. in automated creature killer room). Can someone explain when a gas/liquid gets destroyed? If I close the airlock, will the water from that airlock move up, left, right or perhaps will it get destroyed all together? It depends on the surrounding blocks. When the door closes it will try to merge any gas or liquid inside it with adjacent tiles of the same element. If none of the 8 surrounding tiles are the same liquid or gas then whatever is in the door is deleted. There are 2 basic designs for door crushers (<- good search term). 1. Have 2 or more doors next to each surrounded by solid tiles on 3 sides. Close the outer door first which will cause the inner door to be surrounded by solid tiles, then close the inner door. 2. A single door door crusher can be created using the fact that when a door closes the bottom tile actually closes slightly before the top tile of the door. So if you surround the top half of a door in tiles and leave the bottom half open, some faction of it's contents will be deleted because the the closed bottom half will cause the top half to be completely surrounded when it closes. zach123b
for some reason i thought i was on the update thread... but yeah, if you want to move gas, give it a place to go. i'll use two doors together and automated together to delete gas like co2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/134030-destroying-gases-and-liquids-using-mechanized-airlock/#findComment-1499635 Share on other sites

I occasionally use a horizontal single-door crusher for waste gas like these at the bottom of this base. Element sensor hooked up to a not gate.
