Butterfinger dupe or Seal Killer.

Recommended Posts

Just a friendly reminder, no vacuum is completely safe against dupe AI routing where it shouldn't...

Crisis is averted, viva le autosave. This is a screenshot several cycles before the catastrophe. I did roll back a few less, in the end there still was mopping done and steam pumped to somewhere else.

Was there a need to route around the bottom left corner of the map? No.

Was polluted water needed anywhere around that area? No.

Was polluted water mopped anywhere nearby? No. It is actually used in the middle right part of the map for the puft farm. Nowhere near this.

Dupes can't be interrogated to find a culprit or traitor so: Will routing be further restricted from now on? Definitely yes!

Spoiler

Spanish speaking public may spot the pun in the title.

some time ago i had similar issue not with temperature but that i not had oxygen in that camber

dupe go in , take object, but as it was long run to up, it drop that item because off oxygen missing , similar thing i had with food once, almost killed that poor dupe

I suspect a dupe dropped the bottle from the ladder due to a shift change or emergency job requirement. Moving the lock 1 tile to the right might be safer long term? Or a dropped goods trap?

Indeed a trap, for regolith that is. Polluted water offgassing would have enabled heat exchange anyhow and made a disaster-to-be slower to be found out with worse consequences. Will add notifiers in a paranoid fashion. (Should have done so earlier but other projects got in the way.)

Or dropped a bottle due to the most horrible unexpected factor: save-load

The bottle was indeed dropped, either save-load or shift-end. Further post-mortem of the fact pointed at an old pond of polluted water with a now deconstructed pitcher pump. Pond has been pumped away. Dupes get their toys taken away when they create mischief.

Walking in a straight line to where the polluted water is used would have been quicker than routing through the maintenance shaft. I'm guessing the temptation of using a "somewhat nearby" transit tube access got the best of the AI. Routing is being blocked for their good.

In a picture, my base, soon to be upgraded to BOFA once the sweepers in the caustic biomes are finished:

  • Cyan bar: Regolith drop maintenance shaft.
  • Red arrow: former polluted water pond.
  • Yellow arrow: regolith collection pit/trap with heat exchange (reason for water evaporating) It is set on top of a neutronium base of what may be a geyser/volcano that failed to spawn. (The arrow should point a little further to the left to match my first screenshot with the , but we're not perfectionists, are we?)
  • Green arrow: A not so nearby transit tube access.
  • Yellow square: Nearest transit tube access to former pond.
  • Blue square: polluted water MOGOM for puft farm.

Should have sent the dupe to stare at the wall.

if talk mistakes then that is one what i made

i build polluted water liquid lock to the near hydrogen vent, but i not thing ahead that polluted water generates the polluted gas

as for that result it started make the steam, and now i have there allot off that somewhere 44200 Kg and if something goes wrong at there, some interesting things may start happen, like what i todo with all this head and liquid

Looks fun. Really fun.

When planning for hot environments don't use any kind of water lock because it will evaporate.

You already have plastic as proven by the steam turbine see above. Naphta is really under-appreciated. I abuse it as much as possible for liquid locks. I do vertical locks: So 2kg naptha and either petroleum(350g) or visco-gel(2kg) on top. (Visco-gel is late game so there's that.)

A double lock with vacuum in between will help isolate heat. But a single naphta-visco lock will still do a fair job in isolating temps in a pinch.

yeah i todo mixed liquid locks too now aswell but before i need pump out all that gas before i can build new one

currently its safe by looking how long its been up 7400 cycles, basically i build that last year or even before that. that issue i self

i notice recently that is also reason why there is allot
