Vegan or Vegetarian Negative Trait

Vegan or vegetarian *POSITIVE* trait ;)

Well, if there are benefits from consuming plant-based foods, then it's a positive trait.

On the other hand, if there are penalties from consuming animal-based foods, or if they are impossible to consume, then it's a negative trait.

:3

I don`t like traits that exclude dupes from doing something. Being unable to eat a certain type of food can end in dupes dying if only that is available. I`d rahter have the dupe have reduced morale from eating meat and maybe increased for non meat. It would be mostly positive then.

I prefer a increased stress debuff when eating meat but same difference

Perhaps eating meat will result in gastric symptoms similar to food poisoning.

Veganism should have a positive and negative, kind of like the dupes who have no sense of taste or style being easily impressed (higher morale). Maybe the vegans end up with buffs to health and athletics, but debuffs for strength.

A vegan diet doesn't make you weaker, you can get the same amount of proteins from a vegan diet as a meat diet. It also doesn't make you faster.

Most balanced way I can see to do this is
Duplicant gains less morale from meat foods, Duplicant gains stress from eating meat foods, Duplicant gains morale bonus from non meat foods
(Inlucing eggs and if they ever add milk and cheese to the game)

shouldn`t the dupes get a positive trait for eating meat because raising critters is harder than raising some meal lice?

Why would they get a positive trait? The positive for meat ranching is that it is more food, and better morale boost then something like meal lice.
If your referring to having a second trait for meat eaters like carnivore for example, I don't think that would be a positive trait for the same reason that vegan shouldn't be, things that force the player to limit dupe behavior is usually a negative trait.

yes i also agree that having a vegan positive trait is pointless but i was just giving an example of why it would be even more pointless since you would be getting rewarded for doing something simpler than another thing.

but yes a vegan positive trait or anything like that is just dumb and pointless

I think a simple debuff/buff to morals when eating meat/non-meat wouldn't be as interesting as not being able to eat meat all together, like how some duplicants can't dig/build/research, it forces you to do something else with them, which i think is more interesting than having something that can be completely ignored with a bit of moral boosting.

Didn’t say anything remotely close to that so not sure why you are saying i did.
