Flydo Posted June 13, 2021 Share Posted June 13, 2021 I wondering, how did you land on the other asteroid. I'm already with three asteroid, the last one i send two rover to prepare and after a dupe. But on the both i just discover, the rover can't dig the surface to prepare a nice place for my dupe beggining. Or did i must suicide a dupe to can acces to this asteroid? Steve8 Posted June 13, 2021 Share Posted June 13, 2021 Have your rover build a rocket platform. Then the rocket can land. For landing on the magma asteroid you'll want to build a crew module that they can live in for a while. Don't plan on building a base there right away. They'll have to live in the rocket until things are set up. For regular asteroids it's possible to drop a dupe with a trail blazer module and have them dig towards oxygen. They can seal the breach after they're in. Yeah, i know, i do this for the third. Ok so i understand, if i'm right i must land a rover, debuild the capsule, make the rover build a rocket platform, and have enough material to build a ladder for my dupe to go on the surface. i'm right? Only dupes can. Platform takes 800kg refined metal of one kind. You can either drop packages of refined metal, let a rover open them and deliver the metal to the rocket platform before sending any dupes to build it or land 2 trailblazers, deconstruct them (if it is still possible... sometimes with rover landers it doesn't act correctly) and build the platform. Either way, you will let the dupes live in the rocket for several cycles. Remember along with the platform @Flydo to also build a ladder to reach the spacefarer. Autoskip Posted June 14, 2021 Share Posted June 14, 2021 Haven't actually gotten around to doing landings yet (I'm the kind of player that restarts if things aren't going peachy, and haven't figured out how to make things go peachy for long enough to get to another planetoid) but you could use orbital cargo modules to drop enough stuff (building materials, oxylite, food) to get a hut built on the surface so that your dupe has enough time to make something more permanent. After they increased the capacity it can hold like 6 tons. You don`t need that much refined metal and it might take a while to make enough. Flydo Posted June 15, 2021 Author Share Posted June 15, 2021 Done, pretty proud of this one: Manual generator is here cause i need it after to generate electricity (rocket to small to have a battery), i will deconstruct it as soon as crew is on board to reconstruct the rocket control station.
