The Perfect Game

The Dont Starve series is such an amazing and rich world made by Klei, and DST, its multiplayer version, is one of the  best 
games ever made in my personal opinion, but is not perfect, so in this topic im gonna try to express my ideas and concerns after 
all these years playing dst, of course all acording to the already established  mechanics and lore. Also i would love to hear 
your opinions about what im gonna expose. Because, who better than the people that plays the game every single day to point 
things out? Here are some things i can come up with at the moment.

FIGHTING
In dst fighting is really fun and simple to understand but in the long run it becomes a little tedious and repetitive so, since 
Klei has this trend of adding stuff from either, the solo versions of dont starve (like characters from sw or hamlet) or special 
events like the gorge (like the new farm system and variety of veggies, which is so much FUN) , it makes sense they could 
implement the fighting mechanics introduced at The Forge or at least some things related to it.
Here are some things you could do with that

Wendy
Shes the most rewarding and complex character atm, he*l you can even solo EVERY single boss in the game with just pure skill,
tho, there some things they could add to round her up.

-Abigail commands:
Move/stand ground: Tell Abigail where to go by pointing at it and keep her position no matter what.

-AoE and focus: switch Abi to attack a single target, that way we get rid of some problems at fights like Klaus by example.
It makes sense since Abigail is a person like his alive sisterand not just a mindless drone.

Wickerbottom
wickerbottom books doesnt wear anymore, just like wigfrid buffs an reading each book have a great penalty.

-Books:
Ancient Folklore? (intstead of on tentacles) crafting Materials: papyrus, tentcale spots, nf and ???
*on read wicker sanity drops to 0
*can only be crafted on an ancient pseudoscience station wicker can sumon 1 friendly shadow tentapillar does aoe sweep attack 
with insane range
*Cant get hit, like the small shadow tentacles spawned by thulecite club
*Its harmless to the other survivors
*the tentacle submerges to the floor and emerges where she attacking


Wigfrid
Wigfrid buffs are a great idea but when put into practice, they are not that useful, so a rework is required, like come on, 
Wendy got a re-rework why not Wig then?

-Battle Songs:
Cadenza, Bel canto and Heartrending stay the same.
                                                                
-Active buffs:
Warcry, (instead of startling soliloqy) Wig yells loudly and shakes the very core of her foes.
*Paralizes her enemies for 5 seconds.
*Doesnt work on bosses because they yell louder than you haha idk.
*Make it cost twice the inspiration.

-Taunt, (instead of rude interlude)
Wigfrid does the hand thing and provokes her foes.
*wig taunts her enemies and enters parry mode, all enemies on range focus her.
*Parries all incoming damage for 5 seconds.
*Is unable to attack for that time, this is great to support friends that are really hurt.
*also costs twice.

-Pasive Buffs:
Overzealous Ode,(replacing fireproof falsetto) CM: papyrus, pen, 1 jet, 1 crimson, 1 azure, 1 saffron feathers
*to allies: 100% resistance to cold, heat, wetness, grogginess?
*to wifgrid: cant be frozen burnt shocked or put asleep.

Frenetic Falsetto, CM: 1 walking cane, papyrus and pen
to allies, give a 20% speedboost.
to wigfrid, attack speed multiplier becomes x1.25.

-Abilities: these dont give wig any more "power" that she already has but are more like quality of life changes for her and her
playstyle.

The flawless performer: wigfrid doesnt flinch anymore.
By example, a hound of all things can eat your hits for breakfast and even bite you back, but Wigfrid, whos supposed to be a 
WARRIOR, THE VALKYRIE? flinches?? It would not work for bosses tho.

Strong grip: Nothing can make wigfrid drop her weapon
Since wigfrid is for boss hunters enthusiasts (Bearger and Goose/Moose comes to mind specially), this ability fits perfectly 
with Wigfrids character because, lorewise, as a warrior, she knows the moment she lets go her weapon thats the moment shes dead.

Weapon throw: Does 25% of damage and spear durability decreases as normal.
with this she can aggro mobs from afar, ideal for early game koalephant hunting since shes only able to eat meat, also birds
for her pencils.

Wolfgang
wolfgang is the the most reliable when damage output concerns but he becomes easily overhelmed when multiple enemies attacks
him at once and renders him totally unable to defend himself.

-Abilities:
*Strong Hits, any enemy wolfgang attacks gets stunlocked as long he keeps attacking it.
*Mighty Presence
When in mighty form, enemies that are aggroing him and are close are very reluctant to attack him so only one of them attacks 
him at once. Doesnt work on Boss monsters obviously.

Wilson
wilson really needs some help, hes literally a inferior version of everyone, now even WES, it worked on singleplayer because 
it had a progress bar, but in dst you can choose anyone from start so he NEEDS to shine and prove hes the main character.

-Abilities:
Mad Science
Since wilson is the mad scientist he gets a REALLY mad scientist tab, like other characters have now.

Mutated Beard LOL, cf: 10 nightmare fuel, 1 bottle, requires shadow manipulator.
He can instantly drink a potion and gets a debuff of -5 sanity per second, his beard becomes a sentient being that attacks 
anything close to it at the same time.
*Deals normal damage???
*You can shave it anytime and get 5 nf and 5 beard hair.

WX-78
Some changes:
Wx can no longer eat gears because lets be sincere, its totally a waste, also his friends could make better use for them like 
flingos and fridges.
Also this is widely abused to grief (ruins rushers), like A LOT and leaving people in the server with no option but to regen 
world.Now INSTEAD, WX can fully and PERMANENTLY upgrade himself using some frazzled wires, some thulecite and gears.
This upgrade stays even after death, WX gets an UPGRADE TAB where he can do this and more.

-Abilities:
Discharge
*Any enemy that hits wx gets shocked for 2 seconds.
*Doesnt work on bosses since they are huuuuge.
*Irradiates sparks for a moment when hit which causes shadow creatures and Charlie to vanish.

Walter
                                                                
Abilities:
*Multi Shot, walter focuses and uses all of his mental and  physical ability  to quickly shot at multiple enemies in front of 
him at the same time. (Using a lot of ammo of course), with a sanity and health drain of -200/min?

winona
winona is a very underused and really grindy character obviously since she requieres and insane ammount of material to be 
actually useful at combat, so some little changes would mean the world to her playstyle.

Abilities:
*winona can now take control of a catapult.
Now since the cataputls needs someone to control them, all of the other catapults existent become non operative BUT.
*Anyone can control a catapult if winona is near (Thinking logically, shes the only one who could keep up those machines 
operative and teach the other how to operate them)
*She can shoot twice as faster at cost of some hunger drain per second?
*Winona can now upgrade her catapults to be more tanky, deadly and even mobile, like a tower catapult or something.
*Winona can craft a special vehicle that can move any structure.

Wortox

Abilities
*Each time Wortox eats 1 soul,he is able to phase through attacksfor a short period of time, maybe 5 seconds?? Doesnt work on 
boss monsters.
*Wortox now can heal individually by dragging the souls with the cursor to the character he wants to heal.

Wes
Wes now dies in one hit.

Im gonna need some help with those, there are too many characters and playstyles in this game haha.
                                                                
BOSSES
According to this changes, it would obviously be needed to change how bosses behave and their abilites too.
*Bosses now are a lot more tanky (like more of less the same hp Dragonfly has)
*Each boss now gets at least 1 aoe attack
*Drops from bosses are exclusively pickable for 30 seconds by the player who did the most damage and still alive
You would ask, why all this? well this would encourage to go for the bosses, you know, TOGETHER and work as a team, otherwise 
whats even the point to play multiplayer?

CLOTHING
Clothing is really REALLY underused and i think is because how poorly this mechanic was managed, unless you are talking
tam of shanter.
There is literally no reason to equip the classic backpack and a helmet, this problem could be easily solved by adding and 
changing little things about how equipement works.

Backpack
So hear me out, i can carry 8 LOG SUITS on my backpack like nothing right, but christ forbids me for trying to equip one.
You know you carry the backpack with your SHOULDERS right?

Amulets
Same as the above but more ridiculous.

Solution is painfully clear as you see, allow the player to have 2 more slots, one for a backpack and one for an amulet.

Now talking about amulets and DURABILITY
Magiluminicense: 
This thing is really, like REALLY hard to get, it shouldnt break, it should work like bone armor, once reaches 0 it just stops 
working, even both are refueld by nightmare fuel, come on.

Thermal Stone
why it has durability? ITS A FREAKING ROCK, Why change the infinite durabilty from vanilla??, the change doesnt makes any sense, 
it already takes an inventory space, thats more than enough of a punishment, is a waste of rocks and  waste of the player time 
getting them again, oh yeah just let me sew my rock a sec.

Protective clothes and durability:
For example in winter we have this "tier 3" clothing
chest: Puffy Vest, head: Beefalo hat, both of them, able to be repaired.
Now for summer we have this clothes
chest: Floral Shirt, head: Ice cube, the thing is, you CANT repair none of them, the problem here is obvious, 
*note that ice cube also comes with a downside which is getting wet rapidly.
Now maybe you would say, where is hibearnation vest or eyebrella? well, im only counting the clothing you can ALWAYS get
otherwise you are pretty much obliged to ROB someone whos fighting those bosses to get this equipement, or even get YOUR
loot stolen, which im pretty  sure thats not how the devs intended to be, (obiously, here im talking about public online, which 
is a HUGE part of the playerbase)

Also maybe you would say, well just equip a thermal stone bro, well then whats the point of having protective clothing at all?
and even having different strenght of protection aka TIERS? then just delete all of them and leave us with an unbreakable
thermal stone and a 100% rain protection umbrella and we are set for life.
If you may have noticed, equiping a thermal stone doesnt make your clothing deteriorate any slower, their protections doesnt
even stack!, in fact, youll now have not one but two things to keep checking they dont break and be constantly sewing.

This leads us to the clear conclusion that, while both things thermal stone and protective clothing PROTECT you from the
elements, thermal stone is the ENTRY POINT item for protection thus making protective clothing a direct UPGRADE, ergo the 
difficulty to craft them compared to one pickaxe and some rocks.
Finally, the solution would be simply get more summer tier 3 clothing for both head and chest and at least make the floral 
shirt able to be repaired.

Tent:
It shouldnt break, its not like you regen sanity and health for
free, you loss quickly your hunger meter after all,
Also people are always using them  for no reason, either 
because a misclick (yeah, that happens), new people that dont 
know what are they  doing or simply trolls. So just make it more
costly to craft so people has to earn this structure.


MISC.

Griefing
Hammering;
important structures like flingo, firepit, crockpot, birdcage, fridge and more take an entire hammer to destroy, so people have 
time to notice a griefer without losing anything valuable.
Fire griefing: Player crafted structures cant be lit on fire.

Afk protection
I think everybody wil agree with me in this, so you are playing on an server when suddendly someone calls at the door or you 
have to go to the bathroom, etc, etc. now, the only option you have is to LEAVE right? but when you want to join back, suprise! 
server is full and so there goes all your progress and most importantly all your new buddies you were making.
So either, make players invulnerable after certain period of being afk, of course they can still be votekicked by the rest
or at least increase the max players from 8, i mean there are more than 8 survivors, canonically speaking.
                                                                
Voting
More voting options to enable or disable world features.
Special Events: If theres no current festive event, players are able to vote for their favorite festiivty, if succesful:
server restarts and continues from where it was.

Game modes: lets make the server playstyles mean actually 
something also we merge playstyles and gamemodes as one thing

*Party
The most friendly game mode.
Structures cant be lit.
Players dont drop anything when die.
Bosses cant break anything.
Reeds, cactus cannot be burned, spawn grief protection(already done) etc.

*Survival: 
The standard dont starve together experience.
Dead friend drains sanity, etc, etc.

*Madness: 
Pvp activated. 
Seasonal bosses spawn for each player thus no more raid bosses.
Meteorite shower now can happen anywhere
Stationary bosses now roam searching for the oldest player in the server.

Hound waves
assuming they implemented the fighting mechanics, fighting against 10 or more hounds is not a problem anymore so the only thing 
you could change would be the wave intervals like 7 days each wave past day 100, so players can explore the or fight bosses 
without doggies ruining the pacing

--Reserved space for future ideas.--

Klei has made such a fantastic piece of art, the music, the lore,the artstyle, everything, the only goal of this topic is just
to try to make the game more fun, less repetitive and more inclusive for everyone who wants to play their favorite character 
the way they want.

Golden spear
seriously we have a gold variant for everything but a spear, a golden spear would make the same damage as normal spear anyways 
but last a lil bit longer, like 200 uses?

Gunpowder
Remove it, or at least make it so it doesnt hurts players, everybody knows is only used for griefing and kill players, in my 
personal experience i almost got killed twice because some troll lit gunpowder below me while i was chatting ingame
                                                                
edit3, waves:
beast tooth: this replaces hounds tooths in any repice, depths worms now drop this, making an only caves playstyle more comfy

puppy whisperer, amulet, sewable, 12 beast tooth 6 beard hair 1 vaarg fang, makes hounds neutral to player (until provoked)

worminator 3000, refuelable, 12 thulecite, 6 frazzled wires 1 nightmare fuel, emits a sound that makes depth worms run away when 
entering its range, portable machine that takes 5 seconds to automatically deploy.

edit 4:
chaotic calendar, structure, 40 nightmare fuel, 40 moon shards, when interacted shows the exact day each boss monster is going 
to (re)spawn

treeguards, make that each time you chop down any tree in 15 seconds or less the chance to spawn a treeguard increases 
by 1%

I'll be objective for a second though, you have too many suggestions on one single thread. Break it down piece by piece. I enjoy a few of your ideas, but some of them seem too powerful and things I don't agree with.

This leads to people simply dismissing every single one of your suggestions because they don't like some things you've said.

One suggestion at a time for your next thread. Because I don't think any one person is going to agree with every suggestion you've made.

in the sense of philosophy, this is true. you let go of ur weapon in battle and ur dead. but that steps on wurt's toes. i don't think it would work unless it was just battle spear.



There are suggestions you made for other characters that i also don't agree with, but you made a VERY VERY long suggestion list and I have other things to do with my time. If you make a suggestion thread, you gotta put small snippets of ideas. I only responded to the wigfrid part bc i mainly play her.
