Find little friends/helpers for your Dups "Groot/Gremlins/Ewok"

In some games I have played in the past, like I think Kid Icarus on Nintendo back in the day, he would get little helpers to assist him on his quest.  

I had the idea that little helpers that follow around and try to assist, like little ducklings that follow mother duck.  They will help carry things.  They will pick up things and smell it, and eat funny items. They could be a great source of comedy in the game.  Occasionally they would die making a silly mistake, maybe getting eaten by one of the games critters.  I imagine them being about 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the Duplicates.  

I know this is probably a whole huge layer to add to the game, but I think people would really get into collecting these little helpers.  Possibly there could be upgrades for the little helpers and goals that would put players on a ladder of goals to get improved little friends/helpers.  

In addition, these little helpers could talk garble talk with funny faces.  Even a robot like R2D2 that follows around, everyone likes the little comedy relief helper.  

If it got really deep, perhaps even players could trade helpers, through Steam or something.  Or earn a code where a friend could gift a helper to another friend.  

There are just so many possibilities.  Groot in Marvel, was very helpful as a small Groot, which people went nuts for.  Maybe they would sing or dance.  They would just do funny stuff and provide a serious level of comedy relief.  

I hope you like these ideas.  Everyone loved the little Mogwai in Gremlins too and of course the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi.

This is an interesting idea and view @Dupydup , which brought me to the idea of a tutorial helper ( which can be deactivated ). Some tiny little dupe cat or so, which hops around with the player ( at the center camera position ) and gives a few suggestions on what are good basic build ideas and suggests simple solutions which can be done, to ensure the survival of a fresh new player colony.

Obviously the programmers would have to detect for example that the starter colony calories are zero since 20 minutes and that the player has played the game for less than 10 hours, just as example, to have the cat make a food production suggestion.

Once the dupe cat is burried, the grave stone will turn golden and you hear Meeeeowwwwww prrrrr prrrrr Meomeh from the grave and the sounds of a cat paw scratching stone + audio of cat biscuits being munched.

Maybe a special critter that once tamed will follow a dupe for a cycle and improve his stats. Like a shinebug (maybe one of the later morphs) that works like a baloon from the baloon artist overjoyed reaction.
