I embarrassingly only recently discovered the power of bone armor.. two means you don't need any other armor at all for certain bosses, just a few pieces of nm fuel to refuel them for next time/midfight. 

It's crazy strong, just doesn't work with certain bosses like BQ which honestly is probably just as well.

if 2 don't work, try 3  the only boss that attacks too fast for it is Klaus with his 1-2 punches

I was wondering if I could start the game with 1 single item what would it be, was thinking between wrap bp, bone armor, cane and magi, and maybe Krampus sack too. I'd probably pick the blueprint. The new crown might be worthy for debate too
