it was too poweful. You could beat bosses without healing which made most of the recipes and veggies nearly useless

it had sense like "more armor=more protected" but it would only be balanced if every armor part, even the cheaper ones, didnt give you +80% protection

now we have that they share the durability which is good since you can make some strats like using a cheap but bad armor+ good but expensive armor to get the max protection and increase the durability

Because armor stacking is super overpowered and super unfun because it incentivizes it so much and discourages anything other than armor stacking. Even the simplest armor, football helmet and log suit, when combined would grant 96% protection. That's more than night armor despite being way cheaper to craft and not tanking your sanity. But if you combine higher tier armors like a thulecite crown with either night or marble armor that's a 99.5% reduction. 0.5% damage taken. That is ten times less damage than just the night armor, and forty times less damage than a football helmet. You don't even need to heal at that point because even the mighty shadow rook's 165 damage attack does less than 1 damage per attack.

Armor stacking is boring. Even if we're not looking at the more extremes from high armors it's still not fun to basically be forced to have both a log suit and a football helmet because if you don't have both you're taking 5x as much damage as you would otherwise. DST's armor system is much better where using only one piece is just as effective as two pieces, although using two pieces can still be useful since it prolongs the lifespan of both of them.

The tips mentioned already were spot on. Also there’s a new Wormwood strategy to consider, have you thought about ornery beefalo taming from the beginning of the game?

Wormwood won’t get hurt when riding a beefalo and if you start duplicating seeds, you can pretty much instantly heal your beefalo on cooked potatoes very early into the game. Everything else (bat bat, his personal speed, etc) still applies while you are on the ground working.

I know this and tried but there is no point playing wormwood if iam going to ride beefalo and do not use my perks. Suck bramble husk and produce libing logs for swords and cant use my speed perk. Its feels like wilson when riding beefalo on any character except wendy
