Coolen
I like to close a pipe when the temperature is blow 30 degreed Celsius. So I setup a liquid shutoff with a liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor, but when I look at it, it gives my the temperature if -273.2 degreed Celsius. But the liquid is about 28 degreed Celsius. What Am I doing wrong?
TripleM999
this have to be on top of a pipe, not beside it.
Coolen
OW I connected it with an automation cable to the shutoff. Thank you. Edit: I understand now. The sensor is more then a sensor it is a pipe with a sensor. So it be used as an alternative of a pipe.
Yunru
No? The sensor reads the temperature of the fluid in the pipe it's attached to. You just haven't attached it to a pipe (or a pipe to it).
2tallyGr8
You put the sensor on top of a pipe, and then it reads the temperature of the pipe it is in a tile with.
Coolen
If you put it on top of a pipe it is telling not it can only be placed on top of an empty space. I did it like this now and now it works fine.
Yunru
Were you trying to place it atop the shutoff? Because that's the only reason it would be disallowed: if another building is present in that space.

Yunru
Ah! It's the dusk caps in the way. Even not fully grown, they take up two spaces.

KittenIsAGeek
I have run into this problem before as well.. I was trying to build an electrolyzer yesterday and was getting frustrated about why it wouldn't click... then I noticed that two spaces above was a very wilted salt vine I hadn't noticed.. Urf.
