In my opinion cooking with different thing should give us different recipes instead of old ones. Let's start with meats. Big Mammal Meat -Foods that made with that meat will have "Filling" tag. Filling tag will give +10 hunger (Except special recipes for this meat) -There is new recipe that called "Skilled Steak" that made with this meat, potato and butter. -Beefalos, mactusks and other bigg mammals will drop this meat.Small Mammal Meat -Foods that made with that meat will have "Soft" tag. Soft tag will give +5 health and +5 hunger. (Except special recipes for this meat) -There is new recipe that called "Roasted Piggy" that made with this meat, tomato and two fillers. -Pigmans, werepigmans, Rabbitmans, Monkey. will drop this meat Blizzard Meat -Foods that made with that meat will have "Cold" tag. Cold tag will decrase temperature. -There is new recipe that called "Frozen Nuggets" that made with this meat, honey and corn. -Deerclops, No-Eye-Deers and other winter big creatures will drop this meat. Hard Meat-Food that made with that meat will have "Hard" tag. Hard tag will give +30 hunger but -20 sanity. -There is new recipe that called "Die Hard" that made with this meat, any vegetable and two filler. -Crabking, Lobsters and other shell creatures will drop this meat. Hell Meat -Food that made with that meat will have "Hot" tag. Hot tag will increase temperature. -There is new recipe that called "Breeze Of Dragon" that made with this meat, dragonfruit and pepper. -Krampus, Dragonfly and other hellish-demonish creatures will drop this meat. Vegan Meat-Food that made with that meat will have "Vegan" tag. Vegan tag will categorize food as "Plant" but cost of -40 hunger and -10 sanity. So Wurt can eat it. -There is current recipes. -All plant based creatures will drop this meat. And maybe there can be few new meats too. TL;DR: Meats will have special recipes and will give extra effects when used as filler. And there is few other things. Firstly there is a building called "Oil Maker 2000" which could you could turn some materials to the oil. Fat Oil-Food that made with that oil have "Tallowy" tag. Foods that made with this oil will fill 20 extra hunger, 5 sanity but will give temporary slowness effect. -This oil can be made by one "Big Mammal" meat or two other meats. -Player can directly drink it, drinking it will give warmth and 15 hunger but also will give slowness effect and -20 sanity. Vegetable Oil-Food that made with that oil have "Oiled" tag. Foods that made with this oil with fill 10 extra hunger, 15 health. -This oil can be made by three vegetable or two Vegan Meat. -Player can directly drink it, drinking it will give speed effect and 15 health but also will give temporary slippery effect (That could make you drop your item) and -20 sanityMilk Butter-Works same as regular butter, can't be used as a filler -This oil can be made by one volt goat milk. Salt box will have bigger capacity which that made with gems. Or they can basically add a new bigger icebox. One reason I don't like this is that the ice box would quickly become crowded with different types of the same meat. I have to say I like the oil idea though. I was realized it's gonna be a problem. Saltbox should have bigger capacity which that made with gems. Or they can basically add a new bigger icebox. There's meals like stuffed peppers that increase temperature, and peppers usually take priority so you don't end up with non-pepper meals. The most interesting part of the current system, is finding specific ingredients that can be used in specific meals, or in groups of less-specific meals. Finding what's good to use in the generic meals so that you don't use up resources that are more valuable in other meals, also contributes. Making generic ingredients like this would just turn everything into one bland smear of numbers. If you have any idea I will be happy to read it. The only thing I could imagine is this extra hunger/sanity/health and effect perks. I was thinking about hallucinations effects of mushrooms when used in recipes but I think most of player is gonna hate.
