We may need a new way for calculating the effect of decoration

The problem is that decoration is sometimes useless. For example, in power plant and metal refinery factory, it is impossible to improve the decoration level due to the natural of the facilities in such place. The decoration is highly possible to be -100 or less. An engineer must work in such place, meaning that the average décor value of the day is impossible to improve.

We may limit the décor calculation in some specific place. For example, make the décor value only affect dupes when they are taking a break, like eating, using bathroom or sleeping. This will also greatly help reducing the calculation duty and optimize game performance.

Or we can limit the concept of decoration. Décor system is mean to simulate "working/living in a better condition", but the necessary facilities shouldn't be "poor condition".  We may use room system to solve this problem: inside a power plant, generators and wires have their décor penalty eliminated.

A glass floor allows you to get in lots of decor from below

 

Though I think it's fine if it's impossible or very difficult to compensate. It's an industrial area. Putting in lots of statues doesn't change that. It may become less awful, but I don't think making it super pretty makes much sense

Still difficult if running heavy wattage wire inside power plant. heavy wattage wire have a super strong negative decoration, resulting like -300 or more décor, nothing can save this, even if glass tile with carpet underneath.

Engineers will work in such place for almost all day. This will make morale bonus of decoration impossible for them.

i see the issue, you can reduce that allot by using Niobium for heavy wattage

or maybe use the "heavy wattage constructive wire" with gold build instead as Niobium is hard to get?

last one seems give +40 with carpeted tile
