Imo they’re not worth the price, but if you don’t have a powerful enough computer to run a dedicated server 24/7 they’re usable. They start to lag out with 8+ players, but if you have less than that you should be fine. We’ve also run into issues with the server randomly crashing and save files getting corrupted (so take backups if you use these). If you’re more technical you could always spin up an AWS Linux server and host one on there. Might be a little cheaper, but I have not run one on there for 24/7 so not 100% sure. Jason86JR Posted September 11, 2020 Share Posted September 11, 2020 I would suggest streamline-servers. You need to order 2 hosts to run cave. However the price is normally cheaper in total. You also don't need to install everything from scratch as their host are configured automatically for games. Their support is good and fast too. They don't have RAM options but the more slots you want, the higher the price. My suggestion is that you hire a good host (high speed cpu) for world, since you mainly stay there, and a cheapest host for cave if you don't build big bases there. Last time I asked, their cpu is around 5Ghz which is suitable for heavily built bases.
