I kinda don't want a Wigfrid rework.

I think everyone here is sort of forgetting WHY Klei is doing these reworks in the first place.. I understand that Wigfrid mains are voicing their opinions on what they do and don’t want changed about her, & I respect that, but I can also assure you that not EVERY Wendy or Woodie main is happy with their changes either-

These reworks are not going to satisfy Everyone- And Klei knows that.. however they are doing the best they can to please everyone while also providing their vision of how their characters should change & evolve.

The red circled part- Unique, Interesting & valuable in their own right, but also Game Changing..

GAME CHANGING in Many ways.

this does not mean: Klei plans to completely ruin Wigfrid (with her being my second most played character next to Wendy I sincerely hope not...) But rather to IMPROVE Her and make her even more awesome...

But As with every Rework they’ve done so far- They can’t please everyone.

But it DOES Mean GAME CHANGING.

my "OP" is that you still able to make great effort as the character without knowing the game very well. For Example, "Look, a random stupid dead Wigfrid player's loot on Day 2! GREAT!! I GOT FREE HELMET AND SPEAR by just joining"

Your term OP is more like "noob friendly."  A new player will appreciate having a helm and spear on joining, will appreciate being able to build more helmets as they go without needing an alchemy engine or farm pig skins to achieve football helmets, and as long as they realize they can live well on cooked monster meats, and know a few other ways to get meats as they go, they aren't going to starve.  This makes the character pretty easy for a newer player.

However when we say OP = Over Powered => We mean a character that can do something so well compared to anyone else that they dominate the field.  Wendy can AOE farm better than anyone else.  She can farm frogs, spiders, hounds, and other things VERY easily.  So easy that it takes practically no skill.  You might need a potion but many times you don't even need that because of how resilient Abigail is.  Similarly Wickerbottom is clearly OP for her ability to produce grass / twigs / grow crops.  No one else can generate 1000+ grass in a single game day.

Wolfgang is the OP combat character because of his damage multiplier.  While Wigfrid gets a 25% increase damage dealt and 25% defense bonus Wolfgang gets up to a full 100% increase in damage output.  Even if you account for lag spikes causing mistakes the damage increase Wolfgang gets is going to end fights quicker and safer than Wigfrid even with her 25% defense bonus.

You say "well a server full of Wes would be OP" and you're kinda right.  Having multiple players coordinate on a single task is very effective in this game.  Almost any combination of 3+ characters can ace Dfly with little worry.  But if an equal number of Wolfgang went at the same task it would literally be done in half the time.

Wigfrid is noob friendly, and she is also easier for the team Wolfgang.  As much as I like to give Wolfgang players grief he isn't the easiest character to play.  You do need to manage your hunger throughout a fight to maximize your damage, which also means gathering food becomes an important side task as you play the game.  Wigfrid only eats meat, so she isn't completely off the hook, but she won't put the same dent in the communal fridge as a Wolfgang would.  Many standard dishes are meat based so she can easily survive once a base gets built.  Her helmets also don't take pig skins which I seem to find plentiful in my solo games, but are always a rare commodity in multiplayer servers lol

I'm not sure what you're meaning by this.  Wendy's ability to farm spiders, frogs, hounds, and other things FAR outstrips the ability to set up toothtraps in each of these regions.  My new favorite thing to do is give Abigail a honey potion so she can chase down mosslings before they go rage mode.  I clear them all before I go after M/G.

And what do you mean by "field of grass"?  Is this a comment about Wicker?  Because getting 1000+ grass in a single day isn't losing to any amount of actual picking grass lol

These two are clear OP, you'll have to make a stronger case then that.  Unless it was just j/k lolz w/e post I guess.

Tooth traps are a but unwieldy and take time to make, they do not stack in your inventory and only have 10 uses before they break. Splemunkeys are also immune to them(but they are not immune to Wormwoods bramble traps!).

 

When I go into the ruins I always make it a personal goal to clear out the hellspawn monkeys(because I'm usually very unlucky and the only convenient entrance for me to the ruins is through a monkey biome) and Abigail is literally perfect for the job, I could not achieve this with tooth traps, and I have definitely tried it with Wormwood....and while his bramble traps do kick major but on them, it takes me about an hour to set up an effective amount of traps to kill the absolute hordes of little demons and I have to wear a bramble husk so they don't kill ME as well. I have to sit there, right in front of the monkeys, making the traps individually(because it's impossible to carry 40 traps at a time on me so I have to have the ingredients handy to make them little by little.) so I have to escape the ruins whenever it becomes active.

 

 

....or I can just switch to Wendy, give Abigail a potion, rouse her to attack the monkeys if they aren't awakened(I don't give a crap about their loot, I hate them and they must die) and she just kills the entire room of them...

 

A comparable alternative is I can build a Cave Skeleton with the thurible and have THAT kill the monkeys for me....but I mean yeah...

 

 

What I assume is meant by field of grass is lighting it on fire and putting it out with Flingos. If so that can be quite the big set up...or you can just switch to Wendy and have Abigail take care of whatever non-boss encounter you were having trouble with.

 

I only ever played Wendy after her rework and she certainly trivialized the game for me, almost to the point of how it felt playing WX and going into the ruins.

You don’t really need skill to deal with Any of those when you can just use grass traps- Abigail is obviously more efficient at farming those things because that’s what Abigail is Designed to Do...

But Abigail will not help you against Nightmare Monsters, and she’s pretty useless when fighting most bosses.

Is grass traps the most efficient way to farm these mobs? Probably not... but without Abigail it’s the Safest way to do it with no skill required.

it will even trap and instant kill Spider Warrior for you.. so Without Abigail it’s a super safe and effective way of removing nasty Tier 2 or 3 Spider Dens that move into your territory.

Oh god you meant the rabbit traps...

 

 

But yeah Abigail basically destroys anything in the game that isn't a boss, only a clockwork rook can destroy her and that's because of a glitch that makes it do like 200 damage per hit to her. Maybe an overhwelmingly large group of bunnyman can kill her, and without potions it takes like 50ish shadow splemunkeys to wear her down(not before she puts up a hell of a fight).

Its not, don't worry.  This is a game forum where we just talk about the game.  You've been here a while, how often do spoiler tags actually tag spoilers?  I usually just use it to encase an image so the forum space isn't taken up with images.

Grass traps, like farms, and tooth traps ect take a LOT of resources to set up, and even with them Abigail is going to outpace traps in their production.  Factor in upkeep and wow, why bother setting up traps when you can have Wendy?

I have to point out that Abigail helps greatly in fighting the following boss:

Bee Queen (disposing Grumble Bees), Ancient Fuelweaver (killing 90% of woven shadows), Antlion (invincible to all antlion's attack)

And she can hold her ground as long as Wendy is helping against following boss:

Deerclop, Dragonfly.
