Sharing a few of my ONI builds

Recommended Posts

Just sharing a few of builds i commonly use.

Please tell me if something feels strange bad or whatever :). I built all of them in real game without debug and in usefull situations

Main base:

Oxygen generation and industrial zone:

7604793B6E625C2879B3D7463E977A02761870DB

Big power generator in mid game (only need a bit of steel and plastic)

Space: liquid (oxygen / gas) generator

End game petroleum into nat gas: (requires lots of thermium /steel)

If you use a loop of hydrogen gas around the steam generator down to the oxygen you can do without all the wheezeworts and conveyors.

My bunker doors keep getting knocked out of commission because meteor impacts (well, I assume it's meteor impacts) keep wiping out the one piece of wire (automation and power) that actually connects to the input port. I'm guessing the solution is to make that one wire piece out of steel?

it's strange, all my automation and power wires are in iron. Be sure to not use lead. I only use steel for the wires on the rockets pass.

It could be overloading, check well what the game says on the broken wire

My rockets knock out steel wires too, but I guess that's a different problem.

Back to the solar panel design: doesn't the fallen hot regolith damage the mesh tiles when the bunker doors open?

What happens to the heat generated by the robominers? I would expect them to overheat this way.

I build them in steel and they usually don't overheat.

There is 1 way for the robot miner to overheat, it's when there is too much regolith falling when the bunker door opens, it blocks the robot miner work and it ends overheating. You can solve this by building the robot 1-2 tiles higher than on the picture for example.

Nice builds. I might use that liquid oxygen generator (never reached that point yet). Not sure about space though, don't you have problems with robo guns overheating?

btw regarding the main base, i'd suggest moving the transit tube bellow the living area (with firepoles it's 50% faster going down then up) and in the future, plan ahead to put the common rooms ( showers, mess and rec area) between the columns of bedrooms. It's the place dupes traverse the most, any optimization to pathing here nets much in the long run
