Unfortunately (Fortunately?) this is not true anymore. I have had several people report to me that, as they only started ARGs just recently, they got 3100 + 4200 points as soon as they finished the potion puzzle (this was also the case with the previous ARG batch), and then 5000 when they reached the current ending.
