OxCD Posted May 30, 2020 Share Posted May 30, 2020 It's actually a good insulator, as it has half the TC of igneous rock. Usable with tiles and gas pipes (not liquid pipes). Otherwise, the only way to make sand from mafic so far is to melt it into magma, then solidify it back into igneous, and crush it into sand. If you've some magma freely available, that's doable. Just drop it into. Otherwise setting up a full setup for this seems not worth it to me. The nice thing is that there is a maximum temperature clamp (45C?) when building things. So build away with the 300C Mafic rock. Worst case? Your insulated tiles and vent piping will be 45C.
